| Nine Inch Nails – In This Twilight Lyrics | 18 years ago |
|
I think it links into the song after, both of which are probably about the aftermath of the event (nuclear bomb?) that occurred earlier in the album, as a result of (a possibly religious-fuelled) war. The last two songs seem to be about the few survivors dying, and feeling guilty (Zero Sum, probably) and hopeless (this one). I'm not sure if it's the end of ALL the world, or just the end of the world in the eyes of the survivors of one particular bomb. But then again, if there's going to be a second album after this... |

This song disturbs me. And maybe it's just me, but I thought this song was about obsession with famous people, and the modern-day desire to be famous. But eh... |

I agree with mat35. Plus, I always thought the references to piano lessons and the "she said there's too much out there" bit was about SW being told that music is dead, and there's no point trying- but he did, and although he's not famous he's fine. |

| The Tea Party – Babylon Lyrics | 19 years ago |
|
No idea what this means, but it does seem to have some very heavy references the apocalypse. "Babylon" was a city described in the Bible as being sinful and evil, and in Revelations I think it says something about a New Babylon being created towards the end of the world. " Now that the thrill of the massacre is over" could be a reference to the rapture. "I roll back the stone just to see what I'm missing" also has some Biblical meaning, with the ressurection of Jesus and rolling back the stone of his grave. "Salvation's at hand" could once again refer to the end of the world. This whole song is really vague and cryptic, so that may be completely wrong. |

I agree with other posters. Its about the irony of the fact that someone who drinks coke, wears 501s, has nipple rings, tattoos and wears/consumes everything merchandise-y and corporate is calling Maynard a sellout. Everything's a sellout noawadays so people might as well give up with that soap-box whinge. |

| The Tea Party – Psychopomp Lyrics | 19 years ago |
| I agree that it's about death. It's almost like death talking to someone who wasted their life away in self-indulgence and greed. It's in the person's last breaths, and it's as if death's mocking them as they head towards punishment for what they've done. | |
| Tool – 10,000 Days (Wings Pt. 2) Lyrics | 19 years ago |
|
I was waiting for you to say that. I used something Maynard said as it would actually mean something to you. I couldn't care less whether or not you (or anyone else) share the same views on whatever as Maynard. But you're giving off the air that all "real" Tool fans should do the same as well, which is irritating. I would have said that on the post but I'm unbelievably sporadic and fly around everywhere in my posts, and end up forgetting half of what I wanted to say. As for the album...this album is very dubious. Part of me really loves it but this album is a bit patchy, at best. Tracks 1, 3-5, 7 and 8 are good but the rest is a bit...eh. I'm still trying ot make up whether or not tracks such as this one and Rosetta Stoned make up for some of the more "meh" tracks. This song, however, happens to be my favourite on the album and is probably now one of my favourite Tool Songs. A song like this, written by someone who's not too fond of Christianity, has a meaning of it's own before you even listen to it. |

| Tool – Rosetta Stoned Lyrics | 19 years ago |
| Is it wrong of me to find this song absolutely hillarious and for me to be reminded of Beetlejuice during the slurred verses? | |

-.- Such a shame that the first page is littered with stupid bickering. It's different from their other albums, yes. But how you can lump Aenima, Opiate, Lateralus and Undertow into one group and say this is seperate I'll never know. If it's not good, then fine. Your opinion. But your incessant pseudo-elitist attitude isn't necessary. It's stupid and whatever Tool-fuelled open-mindedness you're promoting isn't showing. You just seem like a child whose hands are pressed against their ears and they're screaming "NO NO NO NO NO!" "if you did, then you'd certainly be an open-minded tool fan, wouldn't you?" This makes me cringe particuarly. Apparently all fans of the same band must adhere to a certain code? You make absolutely no sense. Plus I seem to remember Maynard having a certain dislike for elitist-but-not-quite-cool-enough "fans". Track 7 of Aenima, and quickly please. |

| This was the perfect song to choose to end Six Feet Under with. Really, really perfect. | |

This song is so awful it's good. Hence why I have it on my playlist with a play count of 43. |

| Placebo – Without You I'm Nothing Lyrics | 20 years ago |
|
Dependancy on something that will not last. For me, it's a person. But it could be a drug. Hence it being "WITHOUT you I'm nothing", instead of something more positive. The narrator obvbiously knows that they'll lose the person/drug, but they're sticking with out through everything. The first section is dependency. Bad things happen, and the person/drug is used as a leaning post. However, the problem lies in that these bad things are because of what they're dependant on. Yet they can't give it up, because they need it. "I'm unclean, a libertine And every time you vent your spleen, I seem to lose the power of speech," This is about being hurt or abused by the thing you love most. The first line is almost self-hating as if he's been convinced that he is disgusting. Second and third is an almost masochistic love of being abused. Probably not because it's hurtful, but because it's contact with the person/thing. "Your slipping slowly from my reach. You grow me like an evergreen, You never see the lonely me at all" Mostly obvious- saying that he's becoming more like himself with the person, and that he's never unhappy with them. But as I said, it could be a drug or a person. |

| Sigur Rós – Untitled 1 Lyrics | 20 years ago |
| Only Sigur Ros could sing a song in gibberish and make it sound beautiful and moving without being pretentious. | |
| Nine Inch Nails – All the Love in the World Lyrics | 20 years ago |
| I thought that this song is about someone who feels incomplete, and thinks that love is the only way to feel whole again. Only that they don't try, and just become jealous of those who do have it. | |
| Tool – The Eggs of Satan Lyrics | 20 years ago |
|
What's all this about Hitler, the Devil and Jews? This, like The Gaping Lotus Experience, is just a one-dimensional song. It's not supposed to be deep, it's supposed to be funny (if you like weird, drark humour). As shocking as it is, Maynard DOES have a sense of humour. |

| Bloc Party – Two More Years Lyrics | 20 years ago |
| I agree with JuliaJolie. And the video goes with that meaning as well; children are sitting down looking as if they're about to cry and whatnot. | |
| Radiohead – Climbing Up the Walls Lyrics | 20 years ago |

No no no no no no no. Go to greenplastic.com An interview quote there says Thom Yorke said this song was about people who beleive there are monsters under their beds and in their closets. |
