| The Blow – Parentheses Lyrics | 19 years ago |
| i totally agree with you. this song is one of my favorites on the album. it's so sweet! she's just trying to reassure this person that whatever feelings they want to express is great and shouldn't be supressed! | |
| Tender Forever – Then If I'm Weird I Want to Share Lyrics | 19 years ago |
|
aww. this song is really cute (okay, that pretty much applies to all of tender forever's songs) basically, she's saying i don't really care who i like. girl or boy or chipmunk. i'm weird, i want the world to know. |

| Tegan and Sara – All You Got Lyrics | 19 years ago |
|
baaasically my relationship in a nutshell. but a little different from how it seems like they meant it. my girlfriend lives 700 miles away right now (i'm in chicago, she's in new york). the first line i feel really explains that our cities aren't all the different. "she's up front..." that's her. she's crazy energetic and into so much and really informed about stuff. the middle stuff i associate with jsut some random stuff about us. "tell me what you want..." is like expressing exactly what i feel for her. i'd do anything for her. |

| Carole King – So Far Away Lyrics | 19 years ago |
|
this is one of my favorite carole king songs. i know it's supposed to be a breakup song, but i strongly associate it with my kind of more than friend who lives in new york, and i'm in chicago. so she's litteraly far away. this line is the strongest for me: "long ago i reached for you and there you stood holding you again could only do me good" she gives the best hugs in the world, and i would kill to be back in her arms. this song is so beautifully written. |

| The Moldy Peaches – Rainbows Lyrics | 19 years ago |

| Prince – When You Were Mine Lyrics | 19 years ago |

| Tegan and Sara – Walking with a Ghost Lyrics | 19 years ago |
|
at first i liked this song. it was not my favorite, but i could tolerate it. now it's the only t+s song a lot of people know, and it does not represent them at all. sure, it's catchy and whatever, but the subtext is one of the easiest things in the world to figure out, and the repeptition is really irritating. and no, it's "please don't insist." the white stripes covered it and thought "oh! since it's about ghosts, we'll be clever!" but they weren't and it was just stupid. sorry for all the negativity. i just really don't like how everyone thinks this is such an amazing song. t+s are my favorite band, and almost all of their songs are better than this. |

| Pavement – Stereo Lyrics | 19 years ago |
|
i have no idea what it means to sm, but to me, it's like that time right after a relationship where you're trying to think of anything but that person, so it's like a bunch of rambling and such. but then you see or hear something that makes you feel really good about yourself, so you're like TAKE THAT! to the person ("listen to me! i'm on the stereo stereo"). okay. so that's my take. the end. |

| MC Lars – Cry Tonight Lyrics | 19 years ago |
| heehee...it's like one big emo (emo what? i don't know. but whatever it is, it's emo) wrapped into one song. i listened to the full song for the first time at school, and i almost fell out of the chair because I was laughing so hard. | |
| Ani DiFranco – Untouchable Face Lyrics | 20 years ago |
|
This song means a lot to me. Dilate is the first ani cd i remember listening to, and the story behind this song is a great one. My dad would play ani in the car, and i would sing along, being the 6 year old that i was, not knowing what any of the songs meant, just knowing that i loved them. Untouchable Face is the song that is always brought up when my family is talking about ani. so i would sing along to the songs, right? the chorus to untouchable face ("and your untouchable face/ fuck you") was no exception. but now that i know what it means it has even more meaning to me, and it's just an all around great song, saying "you don't wanna be with me? fine. fuck you." |

| Lola Ray – Our Brown Friends Lyrics | 20 years ago |
| gah. i completely hate this song, and it's making me question lola ray. i mean, i really like the rest of the album (except for slave, which i find kinda mysogynistic). and aaaaaah, i heard this, and i was like WHAT??? | |
| Le Tigre – Deceptacon Lyrics | 20 years ago |
| gah. this song is so much fun to dance to. | |
| Le Tigre – Seconds Lyrics | 20 years ago |
| at the chicago concert, kathleen said "i think it's kinda obvious who this is about" and then the projection had a bunch of pictures of bush and they were like erasing him. it was really awesome | |
| Le Tigre – T.K.O. Lyrics | 20 years ago |
|
i really love this song. it was also my first! and i saw them last night!!!!! they were soooo awesome! and kathleen's explanation of the song: "this song is about taking over the dance floor" and i also agree with reizvoll about the double meaning. at the concert, everyone screamed the words at the top of their lungs. it was amazing. |
|
| Le Tigre – Viz Lyrics | 20 years ago |
|
JD at the chicago concert (btw, her voice is SOOOO different than i'd thought it'd be): "this song is dedicated to gay people" |
|
| The Presidents of the United States of America – Lump Lyrics | 20 years ago |
|
haha. i love this song. i will stop what i'm doing and go find the cd to play this song. but mostly, i just like the beginning line because of how he sings it. but the whole song really rocks |

|
| Tegan and Sara – City Girl Lyrics | 20 years ago |
| Why does it necesarilly have to be a girl and a guy? actually, given that T+S are lesbians, it'd make more sense for it to be a girl and a girl... | |
