| Sigur Rós – All Alright Lyrics | 17 years ago |
| it seems to me that he has horribly wronged someone he loves, and he's terrified to tell them the truth, but he's hopeful that once he does, the other will forgive him and they'll be able to be together. | |
| Underoath – Innocence Stolen Lyrics | 18 years ago |
| The music and lyrics for these first two releases are so immature, but it sounds so earnest and raw. Too bad Dallas had to leave the band. UO is shite now. | |
| Underoath – Burden in Your Hands Lyrics | 18 years ago |
| Why would you bitch about hearing lyrics that are pro-life? If a band is political and sings about the government or bush, no one blinks an eye, but the moment they address something like abortion, it's "this is idiocy!" And you get pissed off. Well that's the country we live in - they can shove it down your throats all they want. If your so pro-choice then let them choose to sing this shit. THIS IS SPARTA! | |
| Underoath – Casting Such a Thin Shadow Lyrics | 19 years ago |
| also "my eyes roll back and focus on what's ahead" | |
| Underoath – Casting Such a Thin Shadow Lyrics | 19 years ago |
|
I'm almost certain it's "Speak up, my ears are growing weary" |
|
| Underoath – A Moment Suspended in Time Lyrics | 19 years ago |
| I believe this song is about struggling to stay true as a Christian. I get such a feeling of desperation from this song. The writer knows he's drowning in his sins, and he doesn't know what to do. | |
| Thursday – Into the Blinding Light Lyrics | 19 years ago |
| Freakin amazing song. It almost sounds like the world is ending | |
| Thursday – Even the Sand Is Made of Seashells Lyrics | 19 years ago |
|
I'm pretty sure this is about Geoff's wife. In the WATT booklet, Geoff thanks "my beautiful sea-shel". Perhaps it's about growing distant from someone you love. This stanza says it all to me... " Every single shell was once alive, just like the two of us. We step into the shallow end, to see what love is like. At the water's edge our lives wash up, the tide keeps rolling out. But now we're nothing," |
|
| Thursday – Even the Sand Is Made of Seashells Lyrics | 19 years ago |
| This song is so beautiful. I wish they had put it on AC/LD, it doesn't really fit in with the rest of the album though. | |
| Thursday – The World Is Black and White Lyrics | 19 years ago |
| This song is not Panic On the Streets of Healthcare City. In the WATT booklet there's a line of lyrics from that song, it goes "In a city built on healthcare, and it's making us sick". This "The World is Black And White" song is not it. | |
| Thursday – The Other Side of the Crash/Over and Out (Of Control) Lyrics | 19 years ago |
| Awesome song. My favorite on the album! | |
| Thursday – We Will Overcome Lyrics | 19 years ago |
|
These lyrics are almost all wrong, it should be: -------------------------------------------------------- We walk away till the end of night, It's suicide, but we will overcome! Another life swinging in the breeze, The southern trees and the strangest root/route Follow the path of the straight and narrow, Hand in hand, Our roads are paved with broken arrows, We will overcome We will overcome Our father's plan, arms in foreign soil, Our brothers die and no one knows where it ends, (------ between the crosshairs) Our lives weave a thousand deaths around us! Follow the path of the straight and narrow, Hand in hand, Our roads are paved with broken arrows, We will overcome We will overcome Follow the path of the straight and narrow, Hand in hand, Our roads are paved with broken arrows, We will overcome We will overcome We will overcome if no one sleeps tonight We will overcome We will overcome We will overcome if no one sleeps tonight We will run for years, We waited too long to see the promised land, We can win the war, We were standing in the promised land. We will overcome Overcome |

| Thursday – Arc-Lamps, Signal Flares, a Shower of White (The Light) Lyrics | 19 years ago |
| I love this song. I've never heard anything like it from Thursday. I'm glad they're trying new things | |
| Underoath – You're So Intricate Lyrics | 20 years ago |
|
To me, this song is about being in a sexual relationship with a girl you love, and knowing it's immoral and wrong, and wanting to get out. "I'll fantasize of being manic, and leaving us behind" A big part of him wants out of the relationship, but he knows it'll break her heart. "I can't feel you, your to far from me" I've felt this exact way. Like you're living in sin and you just can't feel God with the clarity you do when you're living cleanly. It's the worst feeling in the world. You want to be living for Jesus again but you just don't know how to get out of the situation "without choking up". |
|
| Underoath – Innocence Stolen Lyrics | 20 years ago |
|
why? WHY? why? WHY? my favorite part of the song |
|
| Thursday – At This Velocity Lyrics | 20 years ago |
| Hmm. i still think Geoff is screaming "Don't look now, just keep moving" It makes more sense to me.. but I guess we'll find out on May 2nd. | |
| Thursday – At This Velocity Lyrics | 20 years ago |
|
It should be We were safe, now we're paralyzed Suspended in flight At this speed it makes no difference whether we're standing or sitting in an emergency aisle (not 100% sure about that one but it sounds close) We could be dead, complete the equation. What is our X and N? We have no value in these calculations Placed on a plane, pointed straight down Traveling at 500 feet per second 5000 feet from the ground How long will it take us to hit? How fast will we start the disintegration? Don't look now, just keep moving on somehow, Just keep moving How fast will it take us to hit? How long till we start the disintegration? We could be safe now, forever Floating in the clean blue air, circling between the sun that gives us light and the ground that puts it out And we'll kneel in the isles Press our hands together and close our eyes Speak these words so softly To the black box, it goes Mother, father, kelly and friends, I want to thank you for all of your sweetness, But I'm never, ever coming home (I'm not sure about the last 3 lines, but it's pretty close as far as I can tell) |
|
| Thursday – A Hole In The World (Acoustic) Lyrics | 20 years ago |
|
At the end, Geoff is singing "love is love" He has it tattooed on his arm as well. |
|
| Silverstein – Call It Karma Lyrics | 20 years ago |
| I LOVE the the guitar solo on this song. I can listen to it over and over again | |
| Mineral – Dolorosa Lyrics | 20 years ago |
| here's an interesting piece of trivia. Via Dolorosa is latin for "Way of Suffering" or "Way of Grief". It's a street in Jerusalem believed to be the same street that Christ walked down on his way to be crucified | |
| This Runs Through – A Prayer Upon Arrival Lyrics | 20 years ago |
| Awesome song. I wish TRT would reunite and record some stuff | |
| Underoath – Alone In December Lyrics | 20 years ago |
|
it's about December because that's when his girlfriend died. Time has passed and he's a changed man. Now he's at the anniversary of her death and he's alone, but he knows he will see her again. In Cries of the Past, one of the lines is "saturday, december fourth, that night would become a grave that would crush my heart". That's why Dallas uses December, because it's when his GF died |
|
| Cursive – Staying Alive Lyrics | 20 years ago |
| it's ok to cry | |
| Terminal – Wisher Lyrics | 20 years ago |
|
it should be "I am all that's in my way. Do you ever feel the same? Miracles don't exist in us, we just wish ourselves away I'm not right this way, removed and so ashamed |
|
| Bayside – They Looked Like Strong Hands Lyrics | 20 years ago |
|
It should be And I'd choose my side if I believed in what was right But I'm all wrong |
|
| As Cities Burn – Of Want And Misery: The Nothing That Kills Lyrics | 20 years ago |
| Beautiful song. ACB never ceases to amaze me | |
| Terminal – Foster Lyrics | 20 years ago |
|
To me it seems like this song is about a person Travis was really close to who had depression and somehow died (suicide?). I think the person died because Travis refers to them in a past tense. "pale familiar faces remind me we weren't always strangers" Perhaps he was close to this person and then somehow drifted apart. This is a really sad song. And perhaps the most beautiful on the album. |
|
| Terminal – Not All Bad Lyrics | 20 years ago |
| beautiful song. Terminal is lovely | |
| Thrice – Hold Fast Hope Lyrics | 20 years ago |
|
Dustin seems to be Catholic. "Ribs will raise cathedrals for the morning mass". Catholics call their worship services celebrating the Mass. This idea is supported by Catholic concepts implied in lyrics from other songs, like in For Miles the subject of Confession, "open your wounds" also in Like Moths to Flame "once again the bread and wine but it seems the meanings may be deeper still this time" Dustin communicates the importance Catholics place on communion |
|
| Thrice – Between the End and Where We Lie Lyrics | 20 years ago |
| Dustin loves God, can't live without him. "I can't live without the day" | |
| Thrice – Atlantic Lyrics | 20 years ago |
|
It's about Dustin finding God. "Tin cans and string for years is all that we've known. Can it be you're really here?" He dreams of heaven "Breathless and blue, and behind your eyes, the sea Oceans of light envelop me" |
|
| Thrice – Of Dust And Nations Lyrics | 20 years ago |
| Dustin's obviously a Christian, so why are you trying to deny the biblical references? | |
| Thursday – Where The Circle Ends Lyrics | 20 years ago |
|
These lyrics are wrong. It's "Incandescent ground" not "Incan desert ground" |
