Cyber sonic... Matt, is that you? Damn you, I did not know you were on this site. =P And no, that is not quite what Derek said. He said that it was the first song he really wrote for the band, and Skiba wanted to add some of his stuff in. Basically, every verse has it's own theme to it. It is like a bunch of mini-songs rolled into one with very similar themes. They could have gotten away with it too, but when Skiba threw in that last verse as if the girl is alive and all, it just confused the hell out of everybody who tried to interpret it. *shrug* Personally it was kind of a bummer to hear that, because I was hoping that there was some brilliant interpretation behind it that only the Trio really knew, and even thought the individual verses are great, I was hoping for the whole song to symbolize the same concept. I was extremely impressed with the chorus, however. It is loaded with religious inuendos, such as the giving tree from the Garden of Eden and how Skiba sacrifices the audience to the devil... good shit. ~la |

Susan Atkins. Sadie Glutz. Split personality. "He represented a God to me that was so beautiful that I'd do anything for him. I'd do anything for God, even murder, if I believed it was right. How could it not be right if it is done with love? I have no remorse for doing what was right to me. I have no guilt in me." God is Charles Manson. She idolized him. (they were related too, if I remember correctly) shand is absolutely correct. ;) I think we can all agree... Matt Skiba is a lyrical GENIUS. (+ Dan and Derek, but my heart is for Matt) The Trio is nothing shy of brilliance. |

This song is absolutely brilliant. One of my favorites, along with Sadie. Oh, and being a dirty back-stabbing pirate, I managed to get a copy of the album early... so if anybody is interested in hearing a bit, feel free to e-mail or IM me, and I would be happy to hook you up. However, I refuse to send to a lousy half-assed fan. You must love the Trio. You must earn the Trio. =P And before I get hammered with, "You're a disgrace to the band!" ..etc... I plan on purchasing the album on the day of release... and uh... I dunno, I'll sacrifice a virgin or something to make up for it. (-:O ~la |

Hmm... well, personally, I have no intentions of insulting anybody, or starting a tag game of snide remarks or something... but... If I am not mistaken, this site is entitled "songmeanings" for a reason. Nowhere have I seen the name, "Site where everybody argues about who likes what album more and why, and n00bs are fucking idiots, and if I like this song, you all have to like it too or I will unleash an unholy shit storm and lather it all up and down this comment box." That being said... I am having a bit of trouble interpreting the second line... however, I am almost certain the song is about some form of suicide... *shrug* ~la |
