| Ha, No one has commented on this? This is one of the simplest songs ever, but means like totally everything you could want in a love song. It seems like its about a guy, or lady, trying to impress the other, or just to show them how they feel, and telling the other person, Hey don't feel bad, you are perfect, Im the one who is wrong here... Its a wonderful song, with music that too fits the song, They arent trying to do too much with this song, But it sure does get a lot accomplished anyway. | |

I dont know what this song means, Its probably your own interpretation, but heres mine... Last summer, I met a girl... I was 15, and she was 18.. already that is messed a little bit. But we hung out, and we both kinda developed feelings.. we stopped talking for a bit and then.. So one night, "it" just happened.. The first verse was me sitting there, scared of what I was about to do, I wasnt a virgin, but she was 18, and I knew it was wrong, but It felt right... I didnt know how she felt, asking her if things were fine and what not, and this was also therapy for me to get my ex outta my mind, and she did tell me not to worry... After a while, I had enough courage to kiss her... The chorus is me finally getting courage and even though no one would understand and think its gross that shes 18 and all, we didnt care... The next verse, looking at her, and her beauty, really was shocking and such.. The "torn up pages" was how we didnt talk for a few months and we were starting a new chapter... The brash and hopeful is like a metaphor for her saving me from the pain I was in and how heart broken I was from my ex when I met her.. And the last part, well, that explains itself... Basically, It was about crossing a line we couldnt turn back after, We had sex, and it changed us... We still talk and all, and are close, And have had sex a few times, But we both know how jaded others are, and are waiting a little longer until we can truly be together... This may not explain the song, but it was my interpretation, and if you read all this, Thanks.. |

| Well, Just watch the video to get the whole meaning of this song... I think that it shows all the perspectives of love: confusion with Dade, fear with the mother, anticipation with Veronica, and being reluctant and naive like Vada... However, the ending could be interpereted differently... Sure the dad leaves and the mother neglects her children, But do the children find love and say to hell with the mothers advice, or like the video, the mother wakes up and realizes her children are really gone and that (either dead or in love) the mother realizes that love is completely real, and she had it all along with her children... The video for the song is almost as great as the band itself! | |

| I haven't heard that theory before about the car crash, other than obviously the title, But it makes sense. It may be thinking about it too much. This seems like a poetic song, where it dosen't really make much sense, only to the writer. We all know those songs, the ones you sing along to at first without having a clue what the words are, but we eventually get them righht, Now I am rambling, but This song could be about a car crash, a memory, or just a jumble of thoughts and rhymes written down in a time of angst. | |
