This song I though was about 2 gays in love I don't see how it has anything to do with a girl it mentions noting of a girl in it anywhere and evan and chan sound like boy names to me. Maybe I'm just being stupid. Anyhow this is one of my favorite songs ever it's pretty swell. |

Umm the echoes? It simply means that everyone else has died and he is screaming hoping that someone will reply and since no one is he finds comfort in hearing his echo as a form of human communication. He is probably pretending it is his love echoing back to him rather than his own voice.
screaming at the top of my lungs again just means he is trying to branch out for human contact but none is coming. I don't think this song takes place during the attack of biological warfare rather than the effect of it. Like people in bomb shelters eating from cans and listening to news reports about the conditions outside as mentioned in the song. |

To me this song is about a women who has spent her whole life as an interior decorater and has 3 daughters. She eveuntually spends the years pursuing her career as her child all move out "That storm through your turnstile, and climbed to the street" meaning they left her home and found homes for themselves. She is so preoccupied she doesn't even notice her childern leave and one day she reliazes she has grown old and that she has been a bit neglectful. To make up for her absense she promises to do her youngest daughter's wedding so she is preparring the day before the wedding "He took a lover on a far away beach,
while you arranged flowers and chose color schemes"
So The day of the wedding the youngest daughter is all worried and everything goes wrong because she is stressed and the mother isn't there. She evauntually arrives and everything is in a panic and this exhilartion feels like when she first fell in love. Shortly after she dies and feels sad that she ruined her daughter's wedding and couldn't redeem her self. I know this probably is not what the song is about at all but the lyrics just come together that way for me. |

This song is way too moving to be a simple break up. He must of loved her a bunch and she only did so because he did, maybe? It amazes me that someone could write these lyrics. These are the most moving lyrics Billy, I think, has written. Not alone the lyrics but the music and the way he sings is just plain beautiful. This song ofcourse makes me emotional and what not of course taking it from previous and present...loves. Although my loves may not match this song's meaning it hits somewhere terribly close to home. This song does make me "feel alive again" this is defianlty one of the best SP songs. Again it is beyond me someone could create such a symphony of beauty...it's simple marvealous... |

I admit this song I do not listen to a lot not that it isn't good it's just that it takes too long to start but the funny thing is I barely listen to this song and yet I know every word...so it is a natural anthem...
