| As do I. I'm surprised nobody else has commented on it, one of my favorites of you & me, but then again, the album as a whole is just so fantastic. Anyhow, I think the lyrics are quite self explanatory, with that said, they set the mood oh so perfectly with the music. | |

| Clap Your Hands Say Yeah – In This Home on Ice Lyrics | 19 years ago |
|
There are a few errors with these lyrics: "The guests with some distaste they disagree" is wrong, it's "I guess with some distaste I disagree" not "With quite the fashionable" instead "With quite a fashionable" not "startled crowd "Now now did you see what" it's "startled crowd "How now did you see what" I think I caught all of them... |
|
| Clinic – Porno Lyrics | 19 years ago |

| Gorillaz – Rock The House Lyrics | 20 years ago |
| wow, some parts are so awesomely 70's. that little hook they play (i'm not sure what plays it, some wind instrument) really reminds me of some old sesame street songs...and thats not a bad thing...oh ya | |

| The Beatles – Help! Lyrics | 20 years ago |
| John 1980: "When 'Help' came out, I was actually crying out for help. Most people think it's just a fast rock 'n roll song. I didn't realize it at the time; I just wrote the song because I was commissioned to write it for the movie. But later, I knew I really was crying out for help. So it was my fat Elvis period. You see the movie: He -- I -- is very fat, very insecure, and he's completely lost himself. And I am singing about when I was so much younger and all the rest, looking back at how easy it was. Now I may be very positive... yes, yes... but I also go through deep depressions where I would like to jump out the window, you know. It becomes easier to deal with as I get older; I don't know whether you learn control or, when you grow up, you calm down a little. Anyway, I was fat and depressed and I was crying out for help." | |
| The Beatles – Julia Lyrics | 20 years ago |
| Just for clearing John's age up when his mother died, he was actually 12. | |
| The Beatles – Oh! Darling Lyrics | 20 years ago |
| This song was not directed in any way at John. Just a very typical Paul song, probably not directed at anybody for that matter. Here's something interesting though that I read about it in one of John's last interviews, John stated that Paul did a terrible job with the song, and that Paul knew that John was more suited for that type of song, but he sang it himself anyways and did a bad job. I know sort of where John is coming from on that statement, he typically does sing songs with that type of rawness shall we say, but I can't imagine anyone doing a better job as Paul did on it really. One of the best, if not the best McCartney vocal performance on any song in my opinion. | |
| Supertramp – Fool's Overture Lyrics | 20 years ago |
| Wow, I can't believe that nobody has posted more on this song, but really on Supertramp in general. They're a great band, and this is just really an incredible song. I hope more people will pick up on this epic of a song. | |
| Arcade Fire – Une Annee Sans Lumiere Lyrics | 20 years ago |
| To set things straight for the whole "oeillères" (and yes, that's the right way to spell it) oeillères are what horses wear on the side of their eyes, which are made out of leather so that the horses can't see what's beside them. | |
| Arcade Fire – Neighborhood #4 (7 Kettles) Lyrics | 20 years ago |
| Great song, this song like many others on this album don't get the achknowledgement that I think they deserve. | |
| Arcade Fire – The Woodlands National Anthem Lyrics | 20 years ago |
| I used to live in a place called The Woodlands, which is a suburb of Houston. I was reading the lead singer's bio, and it said he lived in a Houston suburb for sometime too...and I'm guessing that he lived in the same place (pretty wierd since he moved to Montreal and went to Concordia University and formed Arcade Fire, and now I'm attending Concordia too) anyway, besides the point, I really can't explain the whole song, but maybe part of it. The Woodlands is your nice ideological town, very nice place, but you feel trapped there, like your in a different world, and you feel contracted into this town where it seems the goal for people there is perfection. I don't know if that follows the song or not, haven't listened to it, but that's just my view. | |
| Interpol – Obstacle 1 Lyrics | 20 years ago |
|
Oh ya, and my favorite line: "We can top the old lines clay-making that nothing else will change" so smart, an insanly good line |
|
| Interpol – Obstacle 1 Lyrics | 20 years ago |
|
Did somebody submit these lyrics as a joke or something? There are mistakes there, honestly too many for me to even try and fix. Personally, I always thought that the first line was "I wish I could eat the salt off of your lost faded lips" just listen to it and I think you'll see that's what it is, and it makes more sense. |
