I can't wait until I graduate. Then I can listen to this song and realize that I've been taken apart from the only world I know and pushed into a new world in which I must start over in order to earn respect, which will never happen. This is what I think of every time I listened to this song. This is only my view, and though it may be completely inaccurate to what the song is trying to portray, it probably will never change. Im completely convinced that life after high school will be the end of me. I'm oblivious to what the meaning of "You're the queen of sound" is. All in all this must be my favorite Nada Surf song, along with "Zen Brain" and "Spooky" and "Stalemate", oh hell they're all amazing. Thank you Nada Surf. |

Ah yes the hit songs that made Modest Mouse popular. It's so weird when you follow a band for some odd years and then out of nowhere they become popular. This is my graduation song which is really strange, it's kind of sad actually. I miss the uncommon Modest Mouse, but like Red says "get busy living or get busy dying"(Shawshank Redemption). Bands that stay together this long either break up or become popular, but popularity is rare. I do like the fact that they didnt drastically change themselves with their new cd. Modest Mouse became popular without changing there music, it just took longer for people to realize how good it was. |

The meaning is pretty selfexplanatory and a bit corny, but it doesn't matter because they're the dismemberment plan. They can tell this son of a bitch anything and he won't talk back, but instead just listen to the joyest, spiritual, mind-powering, masterful words. Because with the plan, this IS the life. Thank you, thank you! Where's my academy award for most ridiculous over-acting? |
