Katy and Avril have almost nothing in common. The only thing they might share is they sing kind of the same type of music but Katy's is waaaay more deeper than Avril. Katy's lyrics are more poetic, darker/heavy, and make you think a lot of what the song is about. Plus, Katy doesn't lie about who she is, unlike some people *arvil*. Avril is nothing compared to Katy. And why does everyone always compare Katy to Avril? Probably because most people don't listen to anything but what's around these days. She's more of a Liz Phair, Fiona Apple, or maybe Shirley Manson from Garbage in my opinion if I had to compare her to anyone.
Anyways, I think this song is about being care-free. I love the second verse. Awesome song. |

I love this song so much. This song is the one that got me really into her. I think it means how she was happy wit a guy but then all of a sudden everything changed. Shes sad about it, but she wont give in and cry on te outside..maybe keep her pain in? I adore the video. I think its her best one yet. Kelly has an amazing voice, and it really shows through this song. It seems she feels the song and sings her heart out. |

I love this song. I personally dont think shes trying or going to be the next avril or hilary. Kelly has more talent then both of them put together. This pop-rock kind of music goes good for her along with just plain pop. This song is awesome. It really shows you can overcome breakups and it has such a good beat and its really catchy. |

Good point Max. But from what i got out of it, it was talking about the former USSR. The 1st, 2nd, and 3rd verses explain about how life was like. Basicaly, they set out rules and limits citizens were forced to enjoy/except them. The \'temples of syrinx\' would be an illusion to a new world order, communism, but they were talking about the Soviet Union. But what really gives you the clue that they are talking about the Soviet Union is when they say the line \'hold the red star proudly high in hand\'. One of thier symbols was a red star. |
