"My friend died recently and this was played at his funeral". God, Im not usually the emotional sort but that gave me a lump in my throat. I've read that the Noel wrote the song for Alan McGee. It's meant to be about how they helped each other out, McGee by signing Noel and Noel by writing so many great songs that saved creation records. Doesn't matter what it actually means though does it? For a bunch of people it will remind them of their friend who died, and what a lovely song to be remembered by. |
