Sounds like my typical day ;) ok well I also happen to be diabetic... (sticking needles in your arm) But i think that this song is about a typical, monotonous day for Brad. He was tired of the monotony; it made him depressed. |

Ehh, perhaps this song is a little too emo for my taste, but I really like how after there are a whole bunch of metaphors and stuff, (cars on a cable, like an hourglass glued to a table) the next part is very simple and appeals to all human emotions. (breathe, just breathe) |

Ok, what I think the song is about is what you guys said. But his voice sounds like Winnie the Pooh. Just thought I'd throw that out there, does anyone else think that? lol |

"funky fresh" was definitely a sublime orginally coined phrase. But really, I doubt Ciara's songwriters are familiar with them... |

Yeah this song's meaning really is different from that of Greatful Dead's. Throughout the whole song, it sounds like one big trip. Like, he imagines the girl and everything. (Because hallucinogens like mushroom tea, acid, and PCP make you trip.) So Brad was probably under the influence of one or more of these drugs when he decided to change the lyrics. |

Heard this song on the radio and they said it was by Marty Casey and the Lovehammers and can't believe more people haven't commented on it. Who is this Marty Casey anyways? Well I think this song is about a relationship and it's the lyricist's dreams about the future of the relationship. |

I just think this song is about human nature in general. Most of us want to do the right thing on one side, our good side, but a lot of times we end up doing wrong to satisfy our worldly desires. It's like we know it's wrong but we do it anyway. Kind of like a cartoon of a person with an angel on one shoulder, and a demon on the other. |

No idea on the Daria reference, but Thelma and Louise was a movie from the 80's I think... anyway, they're like sidekicks or something. (If he were making a Scooby Doo reference, the name would be Velma, dear.) The only Vladimir I can think of is Vladimir Lenin, who was head of the Bolshevick Revolution in the Soviet Union in the early 1900s. He later became dictator, I think. But when he died, they mummified his body and it can still be viewed in the Kremlin. How that relates, I have no idea... just thought I would provide a little background information. The cheap vodka makes sense though. You guys can make your own inferences. |

Sounds like something my father would say to one of my prospective boyfriends! Seriously, that is the way I would interpret the song if it weren't for the "when I showed up and he was there, i tried my best to grin and bear" line. But even that could be said by a father, i guess... |

Sounds like a diss to me. The singer is jealous of this one chick's boyfriend, he thinks he's God's gift to women, etc, so he says her boyfriend looks like a pansy. Then he tries to get her to hook up with him. |

I have a twisted theory here... don't get mad people. So he's in a relationship, but their relationship gets boring. They want to spice it up a bit. To understand this next part, you'll have to agree that this song is his words to his girlfriend. "I've got this friend you see and HE makes me feel" but he never says what he makes him feel. I think maybe it's a gay reference. And still smell HER on YOU, if he's talking to his girl... lesbian reference. Anyway, in a nutshell, they both experiment around and in the end, they both decide they're best together (we'll share what's lost and what we grew.) |

It reminds me of a high school relationship between two shallow people. Or maybe one shallow person. Anyway, he (i'm assuming it's he) is using her for sex. (I travel through a tube...) She then, becomes dependent on him, because sex screws with your emotions. |

I don't really see any cocaine referenes in this song, except "powder on your nose" and "white stains on your dress." And the powder could just mean that she uses excessive amounts of make up (meaning she is fake) and the white stains on her dress could be many things... |

I always thought the term "emo" derived from latin. In latin, emo means "to buy." So I figured it meant they were bands that had a few great hits and everyone bought their albums, then they were over. (sell-outs, more or less.) But emotional makes more sense... lol. |

I swear, killing is so impersonal these days. Like, you drop a bomb from the air and never even see the faces of the victims. Back in the day when people fought hand to hand combat, they looked into the eyes of their opponents and saw that they were just like them, probably with a family and friends. We should go back to fighting with swords and spears, with our commanders on the battlefields with us. I think what SOAD is saying is that maybe President Bush wouldn't be willing to send so many soldiers over there if it were his own ass on the line as well. So if we must have a war, (and we must, or so it seems) it should be more personal, even though sword fighting died with chivalry. |

Revisionist history is looking back on past events and thinking about what would happen if one little thing occured differently, and also thinking about events in history in relation to the present culture. But he's probably thinking about his whole life that way, wishing he could go back and change something. Also, more obviously, the subject is feeling discouraged and wants to end his life. It's about the cycle of depression. |

I think when he says "gentlemen don't ask questions" he means that he's in a relationship with this girl he's totally devoted to and she's cheating on him. He doesn't want to confront her about the issue because he is too nice. Now I realize that there aren't many guys out there like that, but hey it could happen! I also agree with all of riffr49's post. |
