This song seems drug related to me. I mean they repeat "I Can See For Miles And Miles" an awful lot at the end. Seems like a reference to LSD. |

When I saw The Who at the Shoreline Amphitheatre in 2002, Pete said this before starting Eminence Front: "This song is about what happens, how you feel, what you think of yourself . . . when you take to much cocaine!" |

You guys are all wrong. Townshend has said the song is about The Who being a substitute for The Rolling Stones. Of course it could be about things not really being as they seem but I'm not gonna argue with the songwriter. |

I like the dvd and it was a rousing performance but I was still disappointed with it. I mean they already put the show out on dvd before. This time they improved the picture and sound but the songs are STILL in the wrong order, the video and audio STILL isn't synced all the time and they cut out parts of Tommy! Bah. |

As far as I know, Pete wrote this backstage after a Who show in '69 or '70. Apparently a groupie had asked Pete if he wanted any "personal" favors and Townshend declined. He recalls getting a cold and empty feeling that night, thus leading to a bitter and revealing rock ballad, Behind Blue Eyes. |

| Pink Floyd – Scream Thy Last Scream Lyrics

It's hard to interpret or disect a lot of Syd's late work with the Floyd. Scream Thy Last Scream was the last attempt at a single in the 1st (and best in my opinion) incarnation of Pink Floyd. For me, Scream Thy Last Scream seems like a last gasp for Syd. It's almost a premonition of Syd's departure and it's time for one last confusing scream. The mad old woman with the casket could be a disguise for Syd and his declining mental condition at the time. Regardless, it's certainly one of the more obscure of all the early Floyd tunes. I quite like Jugband Blues better than this one... more evidence of a schizophrenic creative mind. |
