"Teeth in the grass" is a metaphor for death, I agree. Death is a constant companion to Life and all the things we get to experience while living: love, brotherhood, nirvana, what have you. The song reminds me of Carl Sandburg's poem "Grass." |

or I could totaly misquote my favorite band... that's alright... Also-- what if the person in this song loves *him* so much it's staggering. They're way over the edge, "You fall in love," and the singer (or whoever's in his position) is struggling to keep up, but wanting to so badly-- "don't slow down." |

It makes me think he's so blown away by this person who shines so brightly, they're just one of those people that see's the world in a different light that all the rest of us.
