I love this song. When i first heard it on the radio, i was hooked. I think this song is about a guy who meets a girl and its love at first site for him. He went after her and told her how he felt, but the feelings werent mutual. Hes a saddened man but is trying to convince the girl it is right (Undertsand Honey). He wants to have another chance and wants to know is she sure that the feelings arent mutual (If I could name you in this song, Would it make you smile and sing along, This is the goal to get into your soul, If I could make you dance with joy, Could that be the second chance to coy) He says that he knows he messed up by being too aggressive and he will ease up by being "tongue tied next time". I think it is good when you go to someone and tell them straight up how you feel, sometimes it doesnt work and the situation will turn out like this one, but its easier to know than to play a game for so long and put so much into someone for so long and find out that its not all the same. I have experienced this situation before but i wasnt "tongue tied next time" |

My absolute fav DMB song. If i had to pick only one to listen to, it might be this one. I think it is about a girl who unhappy with the situation she is in. She has aspirations but she doesnt do anything with them.( i dream myself a thousand times around the world but i can't get out of this place") There's someone there for her. He's right for her and he is the one that can help her, but she doesnt realize that. She sees him as a stranger.( there's a stranger speaks outside her door says takewhat you can from your dreams make them as real as anything it's take the work out of courage but she says, "please there's a crazy man that's creeping outside my door). She thinks no one can help her and the worse part is she realizes her problems, but still continues to close herself to the world (i live on the corner of Grey Street...) Shes frustrated because she realizes that she has come to accept it. She would try to change but she wouldnt get any where, wouldnt become any different. Its too late and it kills her. (she feels like kicking out all the windows and setting fire to this life she could change everything about her using colors bold and bright but all the colors mix together--to grey and it breaks her heart) |
