Wu-Tang Clan – C.R.E.A.M. Lyrics | 15 years ago |
One of the most influential and powerful songs I ever heard, Yey lil wayne, who talks absolute sh**, has more comments on his tracks. what's up with that? |
Led Zeppelin – Achilles Last Stand Lyrics | 16 years ago |
there are precious few songs in the world that have everything, this is definitely one of them. |
Oasis – Champagne Supernova Lyrics | 16 years ago |
I can't believe people think this song is about nothing and site the example of noel saying he couldn't think of a word rhyming with "hall".... all call fall gaul haul mall paul small tall thank god the only word that came to mind was ball cos the song just wouldn't have been as good... slowly walking down the hall, propping myself up against the wall. or. slowly walking down the hall, very drunk but standing tall... slowly walking down the hall, to the next shop in the mall... noel struck lucky and, resultingly, so did we I guess... |
The Wombats – Let's Dance To Joy Division Lyrics | 16 years ago |
Maybe the intelligent wit is too much for me to comprehend, I'm sure some prepubescent kid will set me straight, but as far as I can tell, they're just name dropping in their crappy song to get some undeserved media attention. Being as the musicians in Joy Division went on to form one of the UK's biggest electro-synth and dance bands ever, and absolutely tons of JD songs were quite dancy (Transmissoin, She's Lost Control, Digital, Shadowplay, et al), I fail to see any irony or intelligence in this song. Ian was a tortured soul and people are still sucking his blood to this day, it makes me nauseous.. |
Felt – Marvin Gaye Lyrics | 16 years ago |
than some lines, some texts and some abject living writer of rhythms if jacob would understand HOW daddy.. that's what I hear at least.. awesome track. |
Jay-Z – 99 Problems Lyrics | 16 years ago |
This song got me into hip-hop, because it's got such a rocky beat to it I guess. Now I like a hell of a lot of Hip-hop. But errr, I'm pretty sure you've got some of the lyrics wrong. "aren't you sharp as a tack, you some type of lawyer or something, is somebody IMPARTING or something?" and at the end "I got 99 problems, BEING a bitch aint one." and not "B and a bitch aint one" |
Mew – White Lips Kissed Lyrics | 16 years ago |
Wow, hard to believe it's 2 years since I posted the first message on this song.. Both Mew albums (and half the world) still get tons of play from me, they're definitely standing the test of time admirably.. I'm thinking the stain that wont go is him cheating on her (when he let go), and that's why she's cold and he feels he's the one fighting to keep them together cos he still loves her. Maybe he convinced her to take him back, our love is a tricky love, but you know this, and now they're gonna get married, but the stain remains... |
Elliott Smith – Don't Fear the Reaper (Blue Oyster Cult cover) Lyrics | 18 years ago |
This song aint about suicide, though convincing an Elliott Smith fan (I am one too) that everything he's done/covered isn't about suicide might prove a bit difficult - I'll give it ago. The songs about not fearing death as it's inevitable, it says you'll be reunited in heaven with the ones you love once you die so you shouldn't fear it. 40,000 men and women every day is an estimate of how many people are reunited with a lover every day, just like romeo and juliet were.... |
Refused – New Noise Lyrics | 18 years ago |
This song should have been used in Fight Club, hearing Dennis scream, "THE NEW BEAT, THE NEW BEAT" as Project Mayhem trashed stuff would have been pretty cool. Of course, Tyler insisting that they are not special and Fight Club isn't about them fits in with "WE'RE NOT LEADING!!!!!!!!". If I ever get bored enough I might do some sort of collage. |
Mew – White Lips Kissed Lyrics | 18 years ago |
I should know better than anyone ever could Soon as I let go Everything falls apart absolutely beautiful, been waiting for Mew's new album a long time and it delivered big style, album of the year. |
Mew – Comforting Sounds Lyrics | 18 years ago |
Hatesaiko's opinion is really good and probably more accurate than mine. However I kinda always assumed this song was about being lonely. There's someone who likes you, but inspite of the comforting sounds that person makes, you don't really feel the same way and it wouldn't be fair to start something with them. the broken promises aren't really from that person, but you attribute them to her because you've had relationships where you've been lied to before and there's a paranoia built up that makes you appreciate being alone so you don't have to deal with it. Over analyzing things stops progression, it stops you being in a relationship and that's the thing that he used to know when to stop doing. |
Kaiser Chiefs – I Predict a Riot Lyrics | 18 years ago |
this is leeds on a friday night, 'specially round the train station, where there's lots of taxi's pooled, the scary thing is you don't even notice it's that bad if you're drunk, when you're sober it's scary as £%^"! |
The Goo Goo Dolls – We Are The Normal Lyrics | 19 years ago |
Think this song is about being smashed on some illegal substance or the other, the beautiful sin that aint for all of us. |
PJ Harvey – A Place Called Home Lyrics | 19 years ago |
always thought it was a song about funerals (bells ringing, girls singing), someone has died prematurely in life but "there's no-one to blame, just hold onto me" ( the memory of the deseased). It's just their time to die but they'll be reunited with the people they care for in the afterlife. |
The Goo Goo Dolls – Slide Lyrics | 19 years ago |
She's already had the abortion in the song (the life you KILLED). The verse directly after, "I don't suppose I'll ever know what it means to be a man", refers to the fact he's not going to get to be a father. He's willing to "live around it" because he loves her, even if the rest of the world is really angry with her. It's a really sweet song and one of tne of the Goo's best. |
