This song is great...I think personally that it's about religion (christian/catholic specifically) and some of the bad shit it's done in Jesus's name. I believe Jesus's 'time' in his adult life was 15 years (from a friend of mine). He loves us twisted/straight, he'd write it down but can't concentrate (his apostles wrote the new testament, etc). Jewels and precious metals will never do. Down in the tavern with Mary and Joe...obviously. Thorn is blunted, Mussolini highway (Rome), Tears and useless battles I'll never start (he didn't start them, others did in his name).
