This is patriotic, i KNOW that DMB is about peace, not war. Trust me, i've been a DMB fan for 10 years and i'm 14. I'm not stupid you know... Anyways, i agree with ThePumpkinKing. Being patriotic doesn't mean you have to approve of your goverment, president, or laws. The definition of Patriotic from Webster's Dictionary is- loving one’s country: a patriotic soldier. |

He's talking about all of us Americans standing together and having hope in ourselves, knowing we can fight this. That we are strong, we can get threw this! |

thank you eatdrinkbmerry, i agree with you completely. Being connected with the war, elections, 9/11, and terrorists. Dave is telling us we should stay together as a country cuz if we seperate things will go down. We have to stick together to fight the evil away. I love this song, been stuck in my head... Can't wait to buy the new album! Isn't it called Stand Up? I'm pretty sure that's what it's called... Anyone heard the other songs on it? Cant wait! going to their concert on June 26!!!!!! WOOT! This song made me cry so many times when i heard it. This is my favorite song on the Some Devil cd. God i love it! DAVE ROX!!!! I'm surprised Dave is single with those lyrics, melody and voice... I wish someday if i'm married this will be our couple's song... It's so beautiful imagining the images in you're head... This is obvously having a hint of sex, thought this is a song you can have sex to. ;) lol Anyways, i think this is about an old couple growing old together and seperating away from each other a little bit not loving each other as the first kiss. Though still in love with each other. Stay or leave I want you not to go But you should It was good as good goes Stay or leave I want you not to go But you did So what to do With the rest of today's afternoon, hey Isn't it strange how we change Everything we did Did I do all that i should That I could'a done Also i view it as a man who loved a girl with all his heart being broken. i can't wait till the new album. Btw, Jkidd they have tickets going on sale for a concert in VA Nissan Pavillion. I really want to go to that concert since i live in VA. God Dave ROX! I'm definately getting the new album! WOOT! Anyways, one day i was listening to the song from my CD Everyday then it gave me a story idea. Where it's about a total nature girl, animal lover then in some weird way she meets her alternate self which is the exact opposite of her and is a poacher (person who kills endangered animals to make animals skins, etc.) Anyways in the story her alternate tries to get her to become like her, join the darkside. And she points out how her parents are poachers and she loves animals. Also that they don't like her becuase of her loving animals.So the main charcter is confused and doesn't know what to do... I'll be glad to send it to ya. ;) Anyways, my perpective on this song is that It's about choosing what you want to be in life. Like you're having an arguement with urself in the mirror. Regretting what you did, then realizing that's what you really are. Basically you show you're own true colors. What you are Is the beast in a lover's arms What you are Is the devil in the sweet, sweet kiss What you are Is missing a piece What you are Is a puzzle to me That saying that's what you are. And there is no changing with what you are. Devil in the sweet kiss- meaning when you kiss some one and you don't have a good feeling about them, like if you can't trust them. What you've become Just as I have Are you and I so alike? I don't hear you Just as I am Afraid if we dance we might die What the world gives to you Don't you know When you give life Then you become what you are? That's basically meaning you're turning into something you don't want to be. Like saying "We aren't so diffrent, you and i". A bittersweet feeling, it's like a superhero and a villian. Yeah, i agree with you nickakajudas. This is my favorite song besides Stay Or Leave on the Some Devil CD. I got this CD for my birthday last year and i cried listening to this song. I think this song is about how we should live life to the fullest and not waste a moment of it cause you never know when you'll die. You could die in one minute, or in a second. We don't know when were gonna die and we should live life to the fullest, life is so precious... This song is dedicated to his father, hears what it said on the cd- "This is dedicated to my dad, I'm still half the man my father is" or something to that affect. i have to get my cd. |

First of all This cd was the first one i bought ever. Now all i listen to is Dave. This is my favorite song on this CD along with one another which is Sleep To Dream Her. I don't know why you people are dissing on Dave, he writes better music then you! 2.) Why do I beg like a child for your candy? Why do I come after you like I do, I love you? Wherever you are I swear You be my angel You God... i cried at that part. Someday i hope when i'm in love with my boyfriend we'll dance to this song everyday.
