albetiusmaximus, u know ur shit and ur dead on. also i beleive wilcos thing about the colours...thats just pure genius as far as songwriting goes, now we see why hendrix was such a dylan fan. and my comment on acid....if this is the kinda stuff that comes as a result of it, who cares? you dont have to do it but i dont think that there is much denying that drugs especially LSD puts your creativity into overdrive. hendrix is a prime example, pink floyd as another. |

| Bob Dylan – Like a Rolling Stone Lyrics

song about a girl who had it all and then uh oh time to fend for yourself. its remarkably well written, proof of why dylan is the best songwriter.
With the mystery tramp, but now you realize
He's not selling any alibis
As you stare into the vacuum of his eyes
And ask him do you want to make a deal?
absolutely remarkable lyrics. the words he uses, the way he says them, how he relates them. i cant express in words how amazing this guy is. one of the best songs of all time...and people its hard to say which is 'the best song'. each song is good in its own way, and it depends on lots. so lets just enjoy the great tunes like this one and forget about which one is the best. |

i agree with the past, present, and future regarding how we are wrecking the world slowly over time. This is really brilliant songwriting though...i mean most people choose to write about girls and whatever, but neil decides to write about nature, something not always done in songwriting. and writing a verse about past present and future is really remarkable stuff that not alot of people would think of |

well maybe someones acutally interested about the song or the storey behind it, and yes we know hendrix was amazing at guitar, thanks for pointing that out everyone...anyways, i think it was CBS was doing a documentory or some little thing on hendrix so they went to film him in his electric ladyland studio doing his thing. when they showed up to document hendrix they told him to make like he was playing and what not. so jimi said to the band, blues in E, and hendrix just layed down the groove and the band followed him. this was done in one take, thats it. as for the lyrics i dont know, he just came up with it on the spot incorperating 'voodoo chile' as a makeshift course. shows how fucking brilliant the guy was. anyways, the footage of hendrix doing this song was lost or destroyed, and all we have is the audio portion of the tape which was tacked on to Electric Ladyland just cuz it was so good. there you have it. |

people, this song is about sex. i used to think it was about drugs, but its not, its only about sex, its that simple. more specifically jimi is asking a girl if she has had sex before(are you experienced?) just read the lyrics as if jimis talking to a girl and it will become crystal clear. in more detail i beleive the "trumpets and violins part" is about reaching an orgasm...just read the lyrics over and think about it. |
