I dont think the song is anything orignal, but lyrically, the last verse is very very clever and really cool. they made good use of the beat and the guitar, even if it is stolen. |

in fact to add further to my last point, look in his journals. it says "conclusion came to you" instead of "the clue just came to you". It's questioning whether we're better off trapped in jars, hence "you'll think your happy" suggesting you wont necessarily be happy, but at least you'll think you are. |

Well, lthough im not sure it's better than the original, i will sya this. im as big a nirvana fan as any but as far as im concerned this is just plain funny. Some people might just not like it, and tohers might feel so pathetically defensive of kurt, but its and excelent criticism of nirvana songs. anyone else ever sat in the car with a non-nirvana fan, whose herd teen spirit, and listened to them try to sing it? its hilarious! |

To be fair, im kinda known as one of those people who insults limp bizkit. but this song kicks ass.... they did a good job of taking the original mission impossible beat and turning it into a rock song. its excellent! |

I'm not a rap fan. however, i will give credit where its due and, despite aprehension at first, im starting to like eminem more and more. Especially this song.
Just thought id point out that the meaning is obvious in this song, but people overlook the fact that Eminem isnt just referring to stage fright. He's delivering a message about life in general.... You've only got one shot, do not miss your chance... basically, take lifes oppurtunities when they come to you. They might never arise again! |

Just me who finds Grohl has a less than positive view on relationships in most songs? eg this song, breakout, monkeywrench! |

My vuew was that this is Grohls song about escaping his life. "I'm looking to the sky to save me
Looking for a sign of life"
However, i may be speculating a bit, but is it just me whose reminded of Cobain through the line "Looking for something to help me burn out bright"? Maybe it is a reference to escaping drugs...... or maybe thtas just coincidental! |

I think people always forget cobains own personal input in this song. take the last verse. His repeated use of the word "I" is not his simulation of the view of those he hated but rather the fact that he knows he is also part of the generation he is criticising.
Clearly Cobain thought that many of the actions of his peers were low, and empty, yet he also recognises his own place in that. n fact, you could almost say Kurt is defending Gen X because he's part of it. |
