Bif Naked – Lucky Lyrics 20 years ago
Did anyone see the episode of Buffy that this song was in? It's not the best episode in the world, cuz it has the stupid sleeze-bag Parker. ANyways, though, I think this song is more about 2 lovers who find out one of them is dying. "It was a monday when my lover told me, never pay the reaper with love only" He's just found out he's dying. THey say love triumphs over all, but death really does take it's toll when someone you love dies or is dying. hence love is not a good way to try and pay off the reaper to let you live longer.
and for the rest of the lyrics, I think she goes through remembering some of the best times she's had with the one she loves, realizing how lucky she is to have found the one love of her life. ANd now is the time to let them know how much she loves them and that she thanks God for him.
as the saying goes, "It is better to have loved and lost, than to never have loved at all". even though he is going to die, they are so lucky for the love they've shared and the love that has grown within them for each other, and how it has enriched the lives they've lived thus far.
Oh I love this song so much, it's sad but it's VERY hopeful and optimistic.

Angie Hart – Blue Lyrics 20 years ago
Wow, I can't believe no one's said anything yet about this song? C'mon Buffy fans, where are you all?? ANyways, I love the episode that this song was made for, Conversations With Dead People. I remember watching the commentary for it awhile ago and everything just fell in place and made sense. I wish i could remember what they said that made sense. There's a lot about this song I don't really understand. Why does she keep asking, "And where were you?" I liked the line, "wild eyed, i died, and where were you" though. I get this image of someone being taken by surprise and then killed, like being shot, and then asking where were you when i needed you...or somethin like that :)
the part where she says, "warm skin, wolf grin" makes me think of someone who looks charming and pleasing to the eye, with a wolfish grin, but that's exactly it! It's all an illusion to lure you and bring down your defenses so you'll be vulnerable. ANd once again, she's asking where were you when i needed you?
Well, i think that this song is starting to sound like someone who needs help, but is left alone to fight all the demons that come to kill her. Kinda like life, how for the most part you have to overcome crap on your own, alone.
