I can't believe I've never heard of this song... darn them for not stocking up on older Green Day stuff... I can easily say this sounds like someone who's very ecstatic about something. Probably done something bad to reach there. Bah, need to listen to it first! |

I'd really like this song to only imply on the ecstasy of being with a lover during a sunrise, as the first comments established, but yes, I have to admit that it has hints of literally getting 'high' with drugs. The more I think of it the more it makes sense. HOWEVER the line "Sometimes it's hard to believe you remember me" contradicts the whole 'high-on-drugs' theory. Drugs aren't supposed to remember people. So there's still hope that this song is actually clean anyway. Just as a side note I think James Blunt is a singer to be appreciated for his uniqueness, and that every singer is unique in their own way. Arguing with people over their different tastes only makes this more obvious anyway ^^ As for the previous threads, most of you are great analysts! |

This is what I think. Yeah it about his heartbreak, and how he longs to be with this girl again but it is also obviously about sex, in a deep way though. Many of the lines in this song indicate that. 'I won't make you' : This part has double meaning. He won't make her do anything to him, physically or not, because he knows she's moved on while he's still hung up on her. It's obvious however that his regret is too late since she is not reacting to him in any way ('And you had an apology in your mailbox since last July'). Amazing song. |

it's obviously about his father's death, and i think what most ppl thought about the whole misery and heartache is true. i also think that it collaborates elements of september 11th in it. i agree with the whole 'date' factor. must be more than a coincidence, but that's just my opinion. it's still a gr8 song! |
