I think this song is about a girl, and she is possibly dead. The woeful silence and wind's reflection of your body's pale ode, meaning her body sings to him although it is both beautiful,sad,and natural. Men and women can be seen as opposites, he is the fire and she is the ice. I can see a woman's body being compared to an icey fortress of blood and ages. They are together as one but complete opposites. If she is dead maybe that would explain "there has never been a silence like this before). i could be completely off but thats what im thinking. im sure theres many different meanings. |

this song is amazing. they are comparing phases of a relationship to seasons. summer is usually associated with fun and sunshine, which is like the first few phases of a typical relationship (going on dates, enjoying each other's company) but then when it all goes to shit.... and the weather gets colder (autumn comes) . Autumn is beautiful because of the scenery and the hint of colder weather, but at the same time the beauty and sadness of summer turning into autumn is similiar to the end of a relationship where you reflect on how amazing it was, but come to terms with the end of it. |

i think this song is about being too troubled and self consumed to take advantage and appreciate a perfectly good relationship. he is so numb because of whatever is bothering him, he knows he should care and it would be to his benefit to love her back as much as she loves him, but he just cant get himself to do it. she seems to say she will love him no matter what and she is ok with what few good times they had together. beautiful song. |

yeah andy...this song kicks some serious ass... what my interpretation is... ozzy's looking back on all his mistakes and experiences, and although some of them may be painful for him, he wouldnt be the same and he doesnt have any regrets. also, i think in the midst of the "journey" he found somebody he really loves, and he considers that one of the positive things, and he hopes to continue on with them.by saying the "road to nowhere leads to me" i think, hes basically saying my destiny or where i go in life is up to me, and depends on how i chose to spend my time. |
