Led Zeppelin – Stairway to Heaven Lyrics 20 years ago
Ye Gods, at this point it seems like a waste of time to post (nobody, I think, will ever read all the other comments and make it to mine without wanting to kill everyone in sight.) Anyway, since everyone else has stuck their 2p in, I might as well...

...imagine if all these 2p\'s were real..I would have enough to buy \"The Song Remains The Same\" a couple times over....anyway...

I think anyone who listens to a song backwards needs help. It\'s just as daft as taking drugs, staring into a fire, and saying that Elvis came to you in a vision. If you look for something mystic, you\'ll find it; this is the nature of mystic things, but listening to things backward is backward.

And the one thing that pisses me off most about these forums is that people tend to pick up one theme that was in a song by a band and apply it to all of their songs. Take System Of A Down: not all of their songs are about genocide. In Led Zeppelin\'s case: not all of their songs were about Mordor and hardly any of them were influenced by Jimmy Page\'s unhealthy interest in the life and works of Aliester Crowly.

(By this last comment I don\'t mean that Jimmy alone was scary in his interest, but that anyone who follows Crowley needs to cut down on their daily drug intake.)

I like this song because it speaks to so many people in so many different ways; this is clear by just reading a few comments. However, I do not think thaat this is Led Zeppelin\'s best song, or indeed THE best song ever.

Captain Beefheart and the Magic Band – Safe As Milk Lyrics 20 years ago
So was the original "Safe as Milk" album released without "Safe as Milk"? How odd!

System of a Down – Holy Mountains Lyrics 20 years ago
There is always someone who says that a song is about the Armanian genocide. System have done perhaps two songs about the genocide and, sorry SystemHybrid, I don't think this is one of them. It sounds to me like it's about holy war.
