Uhh no. I don't think it has ANYTHING to do with distance.... it has to do with the heart... social surroundings maybe... you are both there... but you just CAN'T be together... for instance when the oc used it it was played with Ryan + Marissa b/c they couldn't be together after Ryan got Theresa pregnant... I love how you can use music in movies/tv to foreshadow and see what will happen later on. |

I am not sure at all exactly what the song means... I just know I love it... I remember my dad heard it and said it sucked because there is no band blah blah. FUCK HIM! The fact that it is mostly voice and soul (with some great guitar) is what makes it so beautiful and marvelous. It was on the second and last episode of the first season of The OC (before the show started to suck). Anyways I love the song, and if someone could maybe dumb down the meanings in terms of the bible and all of that... that would be great... b/c I am lost trying to understand how some people interpret it. |

I am not a HUGE Oasis fan, I however do like them a lot. However despite the fact I am not their biggest fan ever, Spiritofthestreet is really pissing me off, because he/she is an annoying twat who won't shut up and won't stop crying about how much they hate the song. You have made your opinion clear, just shut up. You aren't making friends on here, you are annoying, stick something up your fucking ass you fag. I wanted to read some good commentary regarding the song but god I had to read your fucking garbage. Go post on Radiohead songs pages, not on here if you are going to be a broken record with your repeated ignorant shit. Anyways seeing as I am not the biggest fan, is the new album out yet? I do not think it is about someone who finds someone pretty despite not deserving her and then they break up. I think it is about someone with a shitty life who has gone through hell, looking for someone (something pretty) to give him a reason to keep living. It's like "I have seen all the ugly, someone show me something pretty." That's how I see it anyways. |

I love this song, I think it is a goergeous song... but I am not exactly sure what it means... I first heard it in the 1st season finale of The OC (The Ties That Bind). I don't know if the song is about cheating persay but it is definitely related to not being able to be with someone when there are mutual feelings, for who knows what reason. |
