Arcade Fire – Neighborhood #4 (7 Kettles) Lyrics 20 years ago
I think it's about him not knowing where time is going. He's waiting for something (he says it's not love, not heaven) but he's sure it's going to be something great. He's blinded by the fact that all he's going to do with his life is grow up and have kids (eyes covered by unborn kids hands) and he doesn't know what to do about getting old. Time is basically scaring him.

Bright Eyes – Old Soul Song (For the New World Order) Lyrics 20 years ago
Those lyrics are way off. Here are the real lyrics:

gray like new day, leaks through the window
and old soul song comes on the alarm clock radio
we walked for 40 blocks to the middle
of the place we heard that everything would be
and there was barracades to keep us off the street
but the crowd kept pushing forward
till they swallowed the police
yea they went wild

they went wild
yea they went wild(2x)

We left before the dust had time to settle
and ll of the broken glass swept off the avenue
all the way home held your camera liek a bible
wishing so bad that it held some kind of truth
and i stood nervous next to you, in the dark room
you dropped the paper in the water,
and it all begins to bloom

yea they went wild
they go wild
yea they go wild(2x)

just when i get so lonesome, i cant speak
i see some flowers on a hillside
like a wall of new tv's
yea they go wild

Unbunny – i leave stones unturned Lyrics 21 years ago
this song is similar to "nothing comes to rest", the next song. it's about running away from things.

Unbunny – Certain Lights Lyrics 21 years ago
A song about someone who thought he was in control, but everything started changing and he doesn't know what he's doing anymore. He could be in over his head.

Unbunny – Casserole Lyrics 21 years ago
It's just a song about living in a bad situation with nothing really good around you, but looking on the upside of it. He's trying to get or already has the prettiest girl in the motor court, which probably doesn't mean much. He has the best of the worst, and he's optimistic about it.

Unbunny – Nothing Comes to Rest Lyrics 21 years ago
It's about a guy running from something, or towards something all his life. He doesn't know when he's going to find it, or what's going to happen when he does. "The empty miles press with the weight I thought i was avoiding" means he's running from something but it's still with him, and he doesn't know how to "release the load." At first I thought this song was about him thinking about killing himself, but i don't think so anymore. I think it's about finding something in life and that running isn't the answer.

Queens of the Stone Age – Feel Good Hit Of The Summer Lyrics 21 years ago
Nicotine, valium, vicodin, marijuana, ecstasy, and alcohol

C-C-C-C-C-Cocaine

Well, since it's the feel good HIT of the summer, and the word "hit" is singular, i guess he's suggesting all these drugs at once?

Not sure that's such a great idea. Mixing alcohol vicodin or valium could be fine, but all three would probably be pretty bad. Alcohol and pot makes you sick pretty easily. Alcohol and cocaine makes you sick pretty easily. Cocaine and pills makes you sick pretty easily. Ecstasy + anything will pretty much kill you. You might be safer just doing one at a time.

The Faint – The Conductor Lyrics 21 years ago
I agree with the hitler thing. It's about dictators or autocrats who need to be in control, and a conductor is a metaphor for that.

The Faint – Let the Poison Spill from Your Throat Lyrics 21 years ago
he's also talking about people who are generally bossy and "glare to get what [they] want" and so now they're stuck like that. "It'll become your look." The glare will. They've had their way too many times.... it's basically about becoming an asshole

Ween – Tried And True Lyrics 21 years ago
Another song about a trip. He's visiting God, or a god, or a force, or whatever he believes to be the all-powerful, and he became that force. Lots of people who take psychedelic drugs feel like everything in the world is tied together through a unifying force, and that's what this song is talking about. He lived his whole life and now he's beyond life, and wants the girl to do the same. "I'm everything." That means he's her too, so she's him, and everything is everything.

Ween – Zoloft Lyrics 21 years ago
Yeah, i got the sarcastic feeling too. it's like it makes them feel great, but the way he says it makes it seem like that's a terrible thing, and now he needs drugs to make him happy. The sad thing is, it's sarcastic, but they're still drug addicts...

Ween – Mutilated Lips Lyrics 21 years ago
I've heard that The Mollusk (the cd) in general is based around LSD (Lots of their cds are based on certain drugs, like White Pepper is based around cocaine) So my assumption is that they
A: Wrote this song on LSD because it makes no sense and
B: Wrote this song about what they were seeing on LSD because that could make a little more sense

In my opinion it's just a guy tripping balls trying to rhyme

Ween – Exactly Where I'm At Lyrics 21 years ago
I'm not sure, but this sounds to me like some kind of psychodelic trip. When people go on trips on shrooms, mescaline, LSD, or whatever, they often stop caring about the things that they used to. The roaming eye sees the harsh realities while when he's in his trip and just looking at specific things not trying to find meaning or get a "grip" he realized what he really cares about and where he's at. The flappity flap is saying that the person not tripping (probably a symbol for most people) are talking about nonsense and the stuff that doesn't really matter at all. When people are on a trip they are known to say stuff like "this is where i'm at"

Ween – It's Gonna Be A Long Night Lyrics 21 years ago
This song is about two guys doing speed (Meth). The singer's forcing the other guy to do it. "Rack 'em up" means making lines of speed and "suck 'em down" (right now it says "sock 'em down" but the actual lyric is "suck 'em down") means snorting the lines. Razor blades are for making the lines, blah blah blah... speed keeps you up all night, and time seems to go really slow on speed, so it's gonna be a long night.

Not sure if it's talking about other drugs too ("I've taken everything") and not sure why the other guy is going to suffer and bleed... if anyone knows....
