does anyone have the lyrics to the spanish-speaking part of this song? i can never hear quite what is being said, and i think it'd be interesting to know. it's weird listening to the songs from the movie though, because they are ever so slightly different in the accompanying vocals and instrumentation- parts are added or left out. |

i really like this version of the song, though i've only heard one other. turns out my two friends and i all had this one song on our different music players, but by three different artists (we have very different tastes in music)- rufus wainwright has a great voice that adds a lot of depth to this song- i love it! |

i think it's unfair to judge people on how or why they find a particular group, seeing as how i always feel self-conscious when people look at the music on my iPod, as if they were judging me. i discovered the shins through Garden State, and have become a fan of all of their music, and not just this song. they've also helped me to find music that i actually like in other indie bands, seeing as i hate most music played on the radio today. i understand the feeling, though, when people claim to "looove" a band just because it's popular when they only know one song. |

to answer apcross, i have heard two different versions of the song myself (one from the movie and another that i downloaded), although i'm not sure where each one is actually from
by the way, i had a rather bizarre question on the use of the word "right" in this song- is it used more as "just" like "at the moment you die", or is it "best" like the best way to die would be old and bony, and not when you are young?
i apologize if none of this makes sense |
