Placebo – Haemoglobin Lyrics 19 years ago
When I saw Dracula 2000, I immediately thought of this song. I don't think it was a very good movie, but they have startling (yes, STARTLING! Oh no! Golly! I'm frightened!) parallels. In the film Dracula is supposed to be Judas, who was unsuccessfully hung. This particularly relates to the first verse of the song. As far as I know there isn't any intentional connection, but I still thought it was interestingly strange.

David Bowie – Please Mr. Gravedigger Lyrics 20 years ago
It's from his first, self-titled album, David Bowie. It's more amusing than anything else in my personal opinion, because it's just a recording of David singing all by himself, apparently in a graveyard. If you were ever curious as to what it sounds like when David Bowie sneezes, after hearing this you'll know the most intimate of details.

Ewan McGregor – Your Song Lyrics 20 years ago
I like talking about this song to other people, because it's always a little awkward saying 'Your Song,' then having to be like wait, no... Not YOUR song... The song, Your Song. You know. From Moulin Rouge. I like how the first couple of times Ewan sings in the movie everything stops, or lights up, or something similar. It's amusing.

Placebo – Something Rotten Lyrics 20 years ago
I like this song because I have a difficult time focusing on lyrics, especially if I'm doing something else at the same time. In this case I get to listen to Brian's pretty, pretty voice with no worry at all about the fact I'm not paying attention to what he's saying.

White Town – Your Woman Lyrics 20 years ago
I first heard this song on a music video montage made by a slash fan of a television show. It was the premise that a man loved another man, and was inquiring as to why they never loved him in return. I get the impression from other reasonable replies sighting things like interviews that the song was meant to be interpreted differently by different people, but I stick firmly by the boy on boy melancholy love song concept. It's by far my favorite, and it does say "you're such a charming handsome man" as well as being sung by a man. Long live slash.
