I'll point out again, that no, Deepshadow.. Kyo wrote the lyrics for this song, as he does for ALL Dir en grey's songs. *sigh*
Yes, I always assumed this song was about heroin.. considering he makes references to freebasing, and the song is 'hypodermic syringe' spelled backwards.
And, well.. I think everything that needs to be said has been. ^^ |

Rawr, this song definitely deserves commentary. Too bad a translation hasn't been posted yet.. but, anywho..
For one, the music for this song was written by Toshiya, and it has a great bass line throughout. Not to mention how thoroughly amusing it is to listen to Kyo singing, "Shishta". ^.^ |

No comments? Pshaw, kids. I hate the way Six Ugly, the album this song was on, has a bad reputation. It's experimental, and a tad different than there other stuff.. but honestly, ALL their albums have a very distinct feel to them that is never duplicated. This song is far too much fun, and has an EXCELLENT bass solo in it. Toshiya bass skills ARE love, make no mistake. |

Argh!? No comments? This is a GREAT song. It's got a great guitar intro, and the music was written by the ever-lovely Die. Really, the excellent guitar continues all throughout this song. For some reason, this song sort of.. reminds me of.. more classic-rock-ish stuff. It's rather catchy, too. It gets stuck in my head sometimes. x.o
Anyway, it's a very good song. And more people should COMMENT.. honestly. |

This is a lovely song. It's surprising not more people have commented on it. I always consider this song and 'Ain't Afraid to Die' to be connected in some way, though, maybe that's just me? They do seem to tell similar stories. Beautiful guitar work. And Kyo's ever-gorgeous vocals, of course. This song is love. |

Kyo's voice is gorgeous, and so is this song. It's very bittersweet, but beautiful, and if you haven't listened to it.. you really should. It was originall meant to be on the Macabre album, but they decided it just didn't fit along with the other songs. It ISN'T a very typical Diru song. No loud, crazy, thrashing-about-ness.. but still absolutely worth a listen. And a second. And a twentieth.. >.>; |

I've heard multiple theories on this song. Some think that the character has amnesia, but I stick to the idea that he's gone insane.
Also, what IS Kyo's obsession with 'room 304'? There's this song, and multiple poems he's written with it in the title. I was thinking maybe there was a meaning in the numbers.. I tried to do a little analyzing of it, but I honestly don't know enough Japanese to come to an explanation. Anyone else care to shed a little light on it..? |

When I first heard this song, before finding a translation, I was completely taken aback by the emotion. And when I did find the translation, I was so.. amazed by how closely I could relate to it. And for those of you who've never seen a live performance clip of this, let me tell you, he gets to the point where he can hardly sing because he's crying so much. I think that's one of Diru's biggest appeals to me. The emotion so strongly portrayed through their music. And this is an excellent example. |

Actually, Deepshadow, Kaoru did NOT write the lyrics for this. Kyo did. Kyo writes ALL the lyrics for Dir en grey. Though, Kaoru did write the music for this song. *has the album and checked* egnirys cimredopyh +) an injection's music was written by Toshiya.
Also, I never assumed the character in the song killed themselves, as well. The strawberry flowing from himself ( or herself, as I think the case is, even though he does use 'boku' ) could easily be a wound inflicted by the abuse the character's put through at the hand's of their parents. And the 'pistol at the forehead', I always assumed, was the character's parents forehead(s). |
