I think it's a story about the evolution of womens rights through the years. The first verse was introducing the story, the second was asking what happened to traditional, patriarchal families where the woman was just a cook, clean, look after the kids kind of person, the third talked about women in the porn industry, and the final talked about men taking on what is usually the woman's job in the house while she goes out and earns the money. |

Coolest. Song. Ever.
It seems most probable that it's about enjoying summer, especially with a partner. |

Napolean's last name was Boneparte =]. Dunno about the "General ___" bit, though. And it probably is "Sweet Anne"
Anyways, this song is second best on the album after Dead Zoo. It seems like a song about a guy who was left by a girl and is too hurt to see her again. |

This song is so me right now.
It's about having your hopes built up around something, but having that hope is the best thing that's going to happen. What you were wishing for doesn't go through, but you're hoping that it somehow will anyway. When you realise that it won't, all your "optimism's drowned" and you're left incredibly disappointed. |

To me, it sounds like a guy who's in a relationship but isn't making the girl happy, in turn making him unhappy. If the girl says that she's happy enough, that would be the weight he'd need to "carry him up"; to lift his spirits. |

Dude, you're so right. About half way through the song, the guitar and drums have "careful with that axe, Eugene" written all over it. |
