| Zao – Trash Can Hands Lyrics | 20 years ago |
|
ah. i thought the lyrics wer about internet abuse. dont get me wrong, i realy like Zao, i just think, y'know. "You gonna write a song about every kid who doesn't like you?" except i wouldn't use contractions such as "gonna." i love Zao. i just feel that this song is not strong lyrically, i guess. |

| The Bled – I Never Met Another Gemini Lyrics | 20 years ago |
|
well. James Munoz is a Saggitarius. the most compatible with a Gemini. whilst it can be seen on the surface as a continuation of "...Seatbelt," it can be read as dealing with the loss of a soulmate. someone who had a perfect relationship with him. but know he/she is gone. nothing left but "Your anaesthetic voice is autographed upon my bones." mebbe. |

| BoySetsFire – Unspoken Request Lyrics | 20 years ago |
|
this song is very powerful. the opening "failed coercion - leads to intrusion" leads to it maybe being a date rape or in a bar somewhere, as someone said - they tried to get on with each other but the guy wanted more... and "with that stupid smile on your face, and try to convince me that you care" - his attempts to persuade himself that she wanted it too. "pull down your goddamn blinds" - how people just turn their heads and refuse to notice what is happening/has happened. |

| Refused – Rather Be Dead Lyrics | 20 years ago |
|
refused are great punk-core. can anyone tell me what the crowd are chanting at the start of this track? there are a few songs which start with chanting e.g. BSF - After the Eulogy starts with chants of "no justice, no peace" which i found out on these boards, but what about this song? im living with the possibility that it isn't english... anyone? |

| BoySetsFire – White Wedding Dress Lyrics | 21 years ago |

has anyone heard Funeral for a Friends song "Rookie of the Year"? its the bastardized title of two othe BSF songs and a lyrical continuation of this song. Good stuff. |

| BoySetsFire – My Life In The Knife Trade Lyrics | 21 years ago |
|
the last line seems to sum it all up as if it wasn't clear enough. Betrayal is the theme, or the failure of a one-way friendship... "you bleed me dry, and i dont ask why" his girl/friend/whatever has been living off him for too long now and he needs to end it - he/she/it just doenst care for him. "your comfort in my suffering is no longer disturbing" In my own... |

| Funeral for a Friend – Red Is The New Black Lyrics | 21 years ago |
|
Quote: "This song is about haircuts" = M. Davies. although he's taking the piss a bithere. i thought the song is about frustration, anger, and possibly verging on suicidal. "I scream down this hotline just to feel something" and "There isnt anything wrong with giving up" may enforce this... |

| Funeral for a Friend – You Want Romance? Lyrics | 21 years ago |

its a b-side on the Escape Artists single. or the video is on the DVD. |
|
| My Chemical Romance – This Is The Best Day Ever Lyrics | 21 years ago |
|
red cherries? a "cover" is a song written and recorded by another artist but played live or recorded by another band out of admiration of the artist or the song. e.g: HIM covered "dont fear the reaper" by B>O>C. the hope conspiracy covered "treason" by naked raygun and RATM covered "kick out the jams" by MC5 - as did Silverchair. i could go on... the breathing from "cold Machines" i thought can be taken at surface level - an iron lung in the corner or so on. but what with underlying themes across the album, attacking consumer culture, it may be paying lipservice to the commercial, industrial society that we need to live, to function. |

| Silverchair – Roses Lyrics | 21 years ago |

| The Dissociatives – Somewhere Down The Barrel Lyrics | 21 years ago |
|
the canto: "When everyone's a stranger They call for you by your first name And laugh at jokes you once made when you were a kid " i think i understand. its about people thinking they know him just becasue they have a silverchair cd. its about being judged by your previous actions. the line "and laugh at jokes you once made" is a reference (i think) to him being in silverchair and not allowing him any room to develop as a msuician - they will always think of him as the acanthine haired youth who wrote israels son. in my opinion, anyway.:) |

| The Dissociatives – Horror With Eyeballs Lyrics | 21 years ago |

the song is all about our man dan's transitory romance with pain killers. the dissociatives are great. are you on the forums? (matt) |

| Funeral for a Friend – Rookie of the Year Lyrics | 21 years ago |
|
everyone here without a clear understanding needs to acquire (download, steal, i dont care) a copy of certain boy sets fire songs. The actual name is a bastardisation of 2 songs: "Loser of the year award" and "Rookie". The song content is a continuation of a song off of their "Tomorrow Comes Today" album - its called "white wedding dress" - hence the refrain. The last line of the song is: "The fire will now wash away the blood on her white wedding dress". The song is about a bride to be who is abused by her husband. Cheery, eh? anyway, for deeper undertsanding into the influences on this song, check out the above songs. and if you dont like them, ... you can **** right off. :):):) im not criticising FFAF - i heart them. I just worry that you may here some BSF songs and complain that its rather similar to FFAF... |
