i wouldnt say it was just about alcoholism... theres another version of this song where the second verse is this: Love came calling As a counterfeit mistress Stealing from the pockets Of a sadomasochist And she's mouthing for this place Like a tongue on crystal meth Her cigarette smell I can feel inside my chest i dont know if the "crystal meth" bit is meant to just be a metaphore or not but i could suggest a genral bad lifstyle of class As and alcohol. |

I like this song... it draw many meanings. My fav line is, "a space man who can't get high" linking back to Andrews old band Soco. =) oh and the odd line about the doctors...?? when all these songs where meant to be written before the lukimia. hmm |

| ok, i've just read more post to see that its not about cancer... I guess it shows how powerful jacks songs are that the strong emotions he writes about can be taken from many angles... hence why I love them so much, coz one way or another i can always relate | |

I think this song must be about the lukimia (how ever you spell it) tho i think its very wrong that some people did know that Andrew was in SoCo *shakes head* how can you not have listened to them when your a JM fan?!?! so wrong! but neway... "What did you possibly expect under this condition?" i thought was about the cancer... "I'll swim, I'll swim as the water rises up " him fighting it? |

REally relate to this song, "some times im old enought to keep rutines some times im child enough to scream.. exactly how i am. "Sometimes I can think to recite words that I read and rewrite." "quick enough to judge that they were wrong, that we knew it all along" every one does that, they judge quickly what some1 does and clain they always knew there was that problem |

Here's my opinion of this song: "Drink down.... warm" = about them having fun, spitting off bridges like kids do.. i guess. "light a maich to leave me be" light match = having sex, but she's clearly cheating on her bf with him, so leave me be = going back to her bf. "if you say... lying" If she says she's happy with the situation then she lying, just like he is about being happy. coz he loves her and wants to be with her. beginning of chorus is clearly about sex. "I'll be you best.. mistake" keeps the cheating theme, n that she'll regret it. oh, "jealousy close..."etc about the fact that he's jealous about the girls bf. "close"? maybe he doesnt reveal his jealousy. hence y he lies about being happy. "so wear me... good in blue" metaphorical chocking... meaning emotionally he weighs her down, he's high maintenence, plus its the keeping him secret and the fact he loves her when she has another bf. specailly with the , Hand behind this pen relieves a failure every day" sounds like a threat. wowo, that was major lyric depth. I love this song, it could mean so many things. |

| this song is great. I agree about tha whole being about being comfortable thing... but i thought that the lines "That sweet and sacred feeling you know Will never last long .Every time you turn around you'll see One more part of you, yes it's gone" is all about how some relationships are good at the beginning, and then when they end, its like you lose a piece of urself. Kinda depressingin a way | |
