| Justin Timberlake – Never Again Lyrics | 18 years ago |
| You know, it takes a hell of a long time to build trust in a relationship and only a second or two to break it. Great song, great lyrics, true meaning! | |
| Justin Timberlake – My Love Lyrics | 18 years ago |
| I think it's a beautiful song about being truly in love. He's saying I have found the right person that I feel comfortable with and who completes me. So why wait any longer when he knows this is it. | |
| Charles Manson – Cease to exist Lyrics | 18 years ago |
|
You guys are all as sick as he was! How can you condone and even consider to applaud a man who commited mass murder and showed no remorse. He was clearly mental! I think you should ALL get educated on what exactly he did and then make judgements about him. He killed a 26 yr old woman who was 8 and a half months pregnant. She even pleaded for her babies life but to no avail. And the way they were all murdered is horrific! I'd kill the sick bastard with my bare hands if I could! |

| Ani DiFranco – Bodily Lyrics | 18 years ago |
|
And occasionally I'll fall asleep somehow And emptiness has its solace In that there's nothing left to take Truly beautiful line. The meaning, well, when you've had your heart broken and you feel depressed it's hard to sleep. So the singer is saying at times I do somehow manage to sleep and at least in my emptiness I am somehow relieved in that there's nothing left to feel or be hurt by. |

| Muse – Glorious Lyrics | 18 years ago |
|
my favourite verse is Rose-tinted view And satellites that compromise the truth I wanted more With the cuts and the bruises Touch my face A hopeless embrace I think the 'cuts and bruises' refer to emotional scars rather than physical. The person wants more, he/she wants love, the kind of love they haven't yet experienced. He wants to be touched but see's this is hopeless because he/she has been through so much sadness that they don't think they can feel anymore. Wonderful |

| Alkaline Trio – Clavicle Lyrics | 19 years ago |
| I think it's about that moment when you first lay eyes on someone. And there's an immediate attraction. You want that moment to last because you don't know what could happen after. It's the uncertainty that kills. | |
| Erlend Øye – Ghost Trains Lyrics | 19 years ago |
| Amazing! Youth and love are the themes. The type of love that really hits you. Always happens when you're young. | |

| Roxy Music – Chance Meeting Lyrics | 19 years ago |
| I think it's about a guy seeing someone he once loved after many years. I think she left him or didn't reciprocate his feelings then. Now he see's her and all the memories about her come back to him. He's still bitter about what happened as he says 'I know that time spent well is so rare'. As though what they had doesn't come along often. | |
| Avril Lavigne – Nobody's Home Lyrics | 19 years ago |
|
I think it's a beautiful song. So honest and open. I reckon it tells of a girl who's lost her way in life. Not just because of something but because of many things that have added up. It also seems as though she's lost hope as things keep going wrong for her. The most wonderful lines I feel are: ' I couldn't tell you why she felt that way, She felt it every day. And I couldn't help her, I just watched her make the same mistakes again.' Here, it describes this feeling which i think is possibly despair/depression that the girl feels but is unable to describe. And no one can help her because no one really understands how another person feels its so individual and so the girl keeps falling again and again. So true and so sad |

| herefromvenus: Hit the nail in the head. So true! About depending on others for happiness and inevitably always being let down. | |
| Take That – Pray Lyrics | 19 years ago |
|
AMAZING lyrics. It's like he's saying I realise now that I need you. I need love in my life. How wrong I was to shut it out. But of course it's too late. Maybe he was dedicating his time to his career and this one girl kept holding on until she finally couldn't hold on any longer and so she let go. Now he realises how wrong he was. It's put across so honestly in this song. It sounds like he really means it. Hopefully every man who behaves like this will realise that love is the only meaning and purpose in life. |

| Billy Bragg – Walk Away Renee Lyrics | 19 years ago |
|
I love the way he compares things in this song. And all the metaphors. I think he loved this girl more than any others. And the lines: " I said, "I’m the most illegible bachelor in town."And she said, "Yea, that's why I can never understand Any of those silly letters you send me." It kinda means she didn't believe his love or his words to her because he was a player/lusted by other women. And so she decided to go for someone else. |
|
| Télépopmusik – Smile Lyrics | 19 years ago |
|
She's saying... Don't be tempted to cheat again. As she saw how he reacted towards another girl. She believed that the way he smiled was only ever for her. And she realised she was wrong when she saw him smile like that at someone else. So now she fels hurt and vulnerable. Deciding what to do. The best thing in that scenario is to leave the guy. If he has vulnerablility to cheating the possibility of it happening will always be there. Therefore, Spare yourself the hurt and pain! |

Love the line 'funny how a few words turned into sex' SO TRUE! |
|
| Justin Timberlake – Never Again Lyrics | 19 years ago |
| I think JT is saying that eventhough she cheated, he loved her so much, he'd have the capability of forgiving her had she only told him and been honest. 'Honesty' plays a part in a lot of JT's songs. It's perhaps the most important quality in any relationship. It's a great message to us all that he is portraying; Love blinds you to many things, makes you vulnerable, leaves you weak. Be wary when you love. Always remain wary. | |
| Fred Astaire – Night and Day Lyrics | 19 years ago |
| Why is it that songs back then were not only melodicaly more beautiful but lyrically too. They don't come like this anymore!! | |
| Justin Timberlake – What Goes Around.../...Comes Around (Interlude) Lyrics | 19 years ago |
|
I think he is saying. What was so wrong with me? I would've given you everything, my world, like he said so why did you go? Why did it end? It always seems to be that way in relationships, where it's always only one person who seems to care too much and make all the effort. It's the sadness of life. great song. |
|
| James Blunt – Goodbye My Lover Lyrics | 19 years ago |
|
I think it's about them both realising they have to let go. For whatever reason. Maybe for the best. Maybe it's mutual. But the guy can't help wondering whether it could have been anything that he did wrong in the relationship. As you often do. So it's a lament for lost love, lost opportunity and regret. BEAUTIFUL |
|
| Stereophonics – Dakota Lyrics | 19 years ago |
|
I think it is perhaps about a holiday romance/relationship. Where from the start you know it cannot last. He is trying to point out how this relationship was perfect and perhaps asking himself why is it that someone you meet who you enjoy spending time with and who feels so right for you ('the one') is always a tourist or doesn't live where you are. How sad and ironic. He perhaps had hope regarding the relationship, or is just reminiscing. It's as though he is saying..you will always be remembered by me, you will always be in my thoughts. And because you have this one memory of one wonderful point in time you will always end up wondering what if, what could have been. And you'll always remember that person fondly as he does in the song. And, inevitably, you'll want to see them again. Bittersweet. |

| I tanked Justin!! | |
| Justin Timberlake – Cry Me A River Lyrics | 19 years ago |
| I think JT is saying smething very valid. Something we should all realise in relationships. Honesty will always prevail. He loved Brit a lot, but in the end she didn't pick honesty so he couldn't give her another chance. | |
| Luther Vandross – Never Too Much Lyrics | 19 years ago |
| The song is TOO idealistic. Love doesn't work that way in reality. Sadly | |

| Deep Dish – Say Hello Lyrics | 20 years ago |
|
'Tricky time never slows That moment walked me by without bothering to say' --I think the singer is talking about the restraints of time. That she experienced a moment in her life when she felt happy yet she didn't realise or grasp this until the moment had gone. It's as though happiness passes you by so quickly that when you are in the moment you don't realise and before you know, it has gone. 'Lucky time never stops That moment knocked me down without bothering to' --Here she is contrasting to what she said before. She is saying...Actually it can be good that time carries on regardless otherwise I'd have never experienced this moment of happiness. What does everyone think? |

| Blink-182 – I Miss You Lyrics | 20 years ago |
|
I think this song is about unrequited love. ' Hello there, the angel from my nightmare the shadow in the background of the morgue'- -- I think here he is saying he wants to be acknowledged by the other. The angel meaning the object of his affection and nightmare being the reality, that the object of his affection will never be his so it's a nightmare he is in. I think the shadow refers to him always being in the background and never being realised by the one he loves. 'the unsuspecting victim of darkness in the valley we can live like Jack and Sally if we want where you can always find me we'll have Halloween on Christmas and in the night we'll wish this never ends' -- Here he is trying to say how they could be pefect for each other 'we can live like jack and sally'. 'We'll have halloween on christmas' I think shows how they could be anything together, they could do anything together they could even be unconventional hence the halloween on christmas part. It's sort of saying look what we could be if only you'd let me in your life. 'Where are you and I'm so sorry I cannot sleep, I cannot dream tonight I need somebody and always this sick strange darkness comes creeping on so haunting every time' -- This is most beautiful. Signifying his constant search for the beloved and his inability to live normally due to him lacking love and affection. The 'I'm so sorry' is fantastic in that he's even apologising for his constant perhaps childishness in always looking for the beloved. It also seems as though his need for someone is overwhelming many realms of his life. 'like indecision to call you and hear your voice of treason will you come home and stop this pain tonight stop this pain tonight' -- I think here he shows how the one he wants maybe false or a player type. In that voice of treason could symbolise the many times the person has led people on or said foolish things. This has clearly been hurtful to the other and he wants the object to stop the lies, the falsity, the empty words and to just be with him, to realise perhaps he is the one for that person but the person will never know if he constantly goes from one person to the next. anyone agree? |

| Story of the Year – Take Me Back Lyrics | 20 years ago |
|
I think this song is trying to say how: remember the way times were, how it was better then, how we felt it wouldn't end and we were so caught up in that one moment that it seemed everlasting. The most beautiful part is when he says 'they never told me this would end, or that the leaves would fall again'. Kind of saying how there was no warning from anyone that things would change or ultimately 'end'. There was no pattern or cause and effect. I think the leaves falling again symbolises the loss of summer, evidence showing that that time has gone. |

I reckon this song is about losing love or someone and not being able to cope afterwards. 'I was me, but now He's gone' Insinuating that he cant be himself anymore without that person in his life. Anna |

| Linkin Park – My December Lyrics | 21 years ago |
|
I reckon this song dexcribes many aspects of human nature: loneliness, the need to be loved, sadness, regret and so forth. December is symbolic of a time when you are supposed to be happy and it signifies a togetherness. The singer is trying to show how for him this time of year only signifies sadness and the yearning to have someone. He strongly realises this. Most beautifully he describes how he'd give up ANYTHING & EVERYTHING to have this. Symbolising how great and noble a pursuit love is. What does everyone else think? |

| Stereophonics – Dakota Lyrics | 21 years ago |

I personally think that this song is perhaps about his first love or so it seems. As why write a song about someone unless they really meant something to you, like a first love usually does. I wonder if we'll meet again, And talk about life since then, And talk about why did it end I get the feeling that the singer is reminiscing about the relationship, because perhaps he needs someone in his life now or is particularly sad. Because he was happy then he thinks back to then. I also get the notion from two particular parts of the song that he didn't want it to end, or never thought it would end as he sings: 'You made me feel like the one, You made me feel like the one, The one'- implying that he felt he was the one for her. And also with the lines: 'I wonder if we'll meet again, And talk about life since then, And talk about why did it end'- It's as though even now he still needs some closure, some reasoning as to how it could possibly have ended. Though he has moved on with time. My most favourite line in the song, which really sums up the meaning of the song to me is: 'Sleeping in the back of my car, We never went far, We wouldn't need to go far'- It's saying that the relationship was not based solely on the sexual/physical/lust aspect. They didn't need that as they were into each other so much. It's beautiful. What does everyone else think of my interpretation? |
