I think this song is about the complexity of domestic violence... It doesn't matter whether its a guy against a girl vice versa or same sex couples so don't focus too much on that. Anyone who has been in an abusive relationship will be able to relate to this song. "So lost in the moments when you're in 'em It's the rage that took over It controls you both" I think this line sum's up quiet well what abusers say happens to them when they start beating their partner... they talk about losing control and a "red mist". Rhianna puts the emotion into this song. Her lines to me seem like the victim is pleading with the abuser to stop, but it doesn't matter what they say or do the abuser doesn't care, he's just going to keep going. Em' goes on to apologies for his actions he'll never do it again etc... and thats pretty much the cycle of domestic violence... they say they wont do it again, and you love them/you believe them they cry and your right back in the cycle. |

"those three words are said too much, they're not enough" this to me means that he doesn't want to just say "i love you" because to him this girl means so much more and he can't express how he feels. hence the line "I don't quite know how to say how i feel" "all that i am all that i was is here in your perfect eyes they'r all i can see" this sums up love being blind completely. you can't see past the person that you are in love with and you feel that without them you are nothing. "chasing cars" does refer to his fathers words that getting a girl is like chasing cars. one of my favourite songs ever and i usualy hate when people say this because i always seem to think "how can it be their favourite song when it has only just came out" but this sng has made me realise why. brilliant. reminds me of the summer nights i went camping lay on the grass with my boyfriend and watched the shooting stars... prefect |

This song is an amazing song one of my favourite songs ever!! Yea this is a rap song but it isnt based only on the rap scene I bet lots of celebrities could relate to this song maybe not the ending but the deranged fan anyway. People will do so much to be like their idols. I don't see how anyone can find it offensive though? Maybe its because i'm used to eminems music and rap music but this song just comes accross as many things but offensive isnt one of them.
