| Sweeney Todd: The Demon Barber of Fleet Street – Green Finch and Linnett Bird Lyrics | 17 years ago |

Like I need to explain, but Johanna yearns for freedom but the Judge never lets her out or anything. Yeah... Beautiful work. |
| Between the Trees – Darlin' Lyrics | 18 years ago |
| I think this song is absolutely beautiful in it's honesty. This is how it starts, doesn't it? Like with a lot of relationships, you like a person, but you can't love them because you don't really know them yet. but you think about them constantly and learn more about them through conversation and time, and in the better cases, you love each new thing you learn. but it's not true love yet, because you still don't really KNOW the person. I've definately been there, and honestly who hasn't? | |
| The Scanners – Raw Lyrics | 18 years ago |
I'm thinking this is about somebody who's tortured over a love for a person.. Although it confuses me. Basically, I think the tune and beat are really kickin'. |
| Skye Sweetnam – Kiss A Girl Lyrics | 18 years ago |
Well I'm sure that the lyrics to this song don't require much deciphering. This song is from the perspective of a girl who is dating a guy who has been a total let-down, just like all the other boys she's ever delt with. She feels that seeking romance through a girl like herself would have a much better chance of making her happy. :) |
| John Ralston – Gone Gone Gone Lyrics | 18 years ago |
I agree with pretty much everything said so far. This seems to be about his strong desire and love for a girl who will always bring a flicker of pain to him because of their past. |
| Matt Nathanson – Still Lyrics | 18 years ago |
| I feel like this song is about remembering an old lover, and remembering the good times at that. I'm not sure whether this leans more to genuinely missing the person, or simply remembering and being thankful for the good times. | |
| Sum 41 – Ma Poubelle Lyrics | 18 years ago |
Splendiferous song. I knew I stayed in french immersion for a good reason. ^^ So, I think it's safe to say this song has something to do with meaningless sex? agreed? |
| Relient K – Must Have Done Something Right Lyrics | 18 years ago |
It's true that the lyrics could imply a girl or God, but in their music video, it seems to be more or less about a girl. Meh, either way, it seems to be about a life altering experience that he feels he could only deserve because he must have done something right. Whatever it means, it's a great song. |

| The Used – The Bird and the Worm Lyrics | 18 years ago |
I saw the video! Oh man, I was scared to make any sudden movements on my couch after seeing that just incase I drowned underneath the cushions or something. Okay so basically I think it's safe to say that this song is about major struggle. I'm not so sure, but I think it has to do with being caught up in a crowd whether or not if they're your kind; Like being surrounded by all these people who's opinions might not even matter, but are effecting you anyway. Probably making you forget your own identity. It could also be that said individual (worm) didn't know they're inner being anyway, and now they feel so trapped by pressure and expectations and civilization as we know it, and they're trying to give him an identity he's not sure about. The big bad bird. Once more, it could also be that he's already grasped who he is, but others are looking down on him and making him either pressured, or with a strong desire to just get the hell away from those people and be somewhere that he can be himself. |
| Hawksley Workman – Little Tragedies Lyrics | 18 years ago |
This song is just so fun, and random, and messed up. I haven't got a clue as to what it's true meaning is, but it's sure fun to jump around to. |
| Creed – Higher Lyrics | 18 years ago |
To johnsonator357 I agree with you completely and totally in every way possible. Just... yes, thank you. You made me happy after reading through all these rediculous comments against religion and stuff. I personally am not all that religious, and I am not the number one fan of Creed, but their songs have a lot of depth and meaning to them, and I think it's not a bad idea for people to really try to consider what they're trying to say. Lots of bands of all genres have some important messages, fun messages and random messages, and there's no harm in hearing them all out, dispite whether you're a rapper or a rocker or a pop kid or whatever. Just go with the easy floww. Hehe. |
| t.A.T.u. – Loves Me Not Lyrics | 18 years ago |
| I'm pretty sure that this song has to do with being confused about boys and gals. She's been known as this lesbian and lived proudly up to it, but then she met this boy who gave her a really lovey feeling, and it was probably really confusing and disorientating for her and her female partner. | |
| New Found Glory – Hold My Hand Lyrics | 18 years ago |
Basically, he's head over heals for a girl who fits his definition of perfect. A girl who makes his heart race and who means the world to him, and he just wants to be with her. cyoot. |
| Young Love – Find a New Way Lyrics | 18 years ago |
I think the lyrics are pretty self explanitory. Life holds unexpected things, good and bad. But, you can always pull through, whether or not if it was the way you originally planned. |
| Meg & Dia – Cardigan Weather Lyrics | 19 years ago |
I haven't thought about it long, so I might end up needing to recomment another time. But basically I think this song is about "The game of love" but not so much "true love." I know there's more to it, but I need a little more time to think. |
| Nickel Creek – Doubting Thomas Lyrics | 19 years ago |
The lyrics seem pretty self-explanitory, don't you think? I feel that this song is about him wanting to do justice but he's scared of finding something wrong or bad inside the good. A lie. Maybe, just MAYBE he's also saying he feels a bit like a pawn in that he wants to help but he isn't sure he's strong enough, or not ready to die so soon. Meh, I'm not 100% sure... At least I tried. |
| Stabilo – Kidding Ourselves Lyrics | 19 years ago |
PS - I thought I should also mention that these lyrics were written out incorrectly. They're mostly right, but this is what was in the CD case. And I, I wanted to tear down the curtains To let, let in some natural light I wake up and open one eye And wait for the window to crack at me Alone And I, I wanted to curl up beside you And die At least for an hour or more Depending on how you react Depending on how you respond to me I'll stick around We're killing ourselves, Killing ourselves So what do you want from me 'Cause as long as there's a payphone and a taxi cab I'm alright 'Cause I can leave home We're kidding ourselves Kidding ourselves So what are you waiting for 'Cause even with a fast car and a cellphone, I won't leave 'cause I'd be alone So tonight, let's be as bold as we want to And drink Drink 'till we fall down the steps Remember how that made us laugh Remember how all that we did was laugh And then cry Well, we're killing ourselves Killing ourselves So what do you want from me 'Cause as long as there's a payphone and a taxicab I'm alright, 'Cause I can leave home We're kidding ourselves Kidding ourselves So what are you waiting for 'Cause even on a boat a train or a jet plane, I won't leave 'cause I'd be alone And I'm lucky to find cardboard in an alleyway That I can call home So tonight Let's be as bold as we want to We're killing ourselves, Killing ourselves So what do you want from me 'Cause as long as there's a payphone and a taxi cab I'm alright, 'Cause I can leave home We're kidding ourselves Kidding ourselves So what are you waiting for 'Cause even on a boat a train or a jet plane, I won't leave 'cause I'd be alone I'm lucky to find cardboard in an alleyway that I can call home So don't take your eyes off me, Don't look away. You wont be alone. |

| Stabilo – Kidding Ourselves Lyrics | 19 years ago |
I completely and totally agree with ashii. This song strikes me as two friends who feel more than just friendship, but are scared to go there. Maybe they're scared of what will happen but honestly they love eachother and there's no more point in hiding it. "Let's be as bold as we want to" |
| Plain White T's – Faster Lyrics | 19 years ago |
When I first heard this song, I thought it was pretty bland. However, after listening to the lyrics, I realized this was an awesome song, and it's now on my "Fave" list. This is definately about the woman he loves, and her issues with him. Love it |
| Gregory and the Hawk – Boats and Birds Lyrics | 19 years ago |
I don't know if this has to do with a girl loving a guy or a family member leaving or anything of the sort. All I can do is state the obvious, and agree this song is freaking amazing. Someone is completely devoted to another person, no matter what it takes. As long as they see this other person is happy and free, that's all that matters. This song is amazing and brings tears to my eyes. AWESOME. |
| Plain White T's – Last Call Lyrics | 19 years ago |
| I agree with Hobbelf. Took the words right outta my mouth! | |
| The Smashing Pumpkins – To Forgive Lyrics | 19 years ago |
I'm not even sure what to say about this song. It has to be one of my favorites ever. I think he's talking about how everything is pretty much screwed, but we're all stuck playing this game like it's perfect. "Holding back the fool again" His life wasn't exactly a tea party, and now we know. |
| No Doubt – Just A Girl Lyrics | 19 years ago |
Firstly, I agree with dylan and the whole "bands selling out" thing. Next, I love this song because I see the message about women being used and such. It's not always like that, but it's out there, and that just bothers me. I like that there's a song that displays this act of humanity to everyone. Gwen's not my favorite person alive, but I'm glad No Doubt did this song ^^ ... plus it's catchy :P |
| Dashboard Confessional – Hands Down Lyrics | 19 years ago |
I know this song has been out a while, and I think when I first heard it, i liked it, but never really considered the lyrics. To me this song is just so sweet. it's so great to know that these things really matter to some people. "Hey did you get some?"... Man, that is so dumb Stay quiet, stay near, stay close they can't hear So we can get some I liked this part because I think it's something many people like myself can relate to. Anyone could ask "did you kiss?" or "did you make out?" and "did you do it?" *did you get some* It's not about doing it for the hell of it, and impressing some peers. you do these things because you care about someone, and you and that special someone want to be one with each other. Do these things for your own special relationship. It has nothing to do with anyone else. Awesome song *thumbs up* |

| And Then I Turned Seven – I Miss You Lyrics | 19 years ago |
Woops I forgot to comment on the band name. I remember this poem my dad told me when I was really really little. "Six" I think it was called. When I was one I had just begun When I was two I was nearly new When I was three I was hardly me When I was for I was not much more When I was five I was just alive But now I am six, and clever as clever I think I'll be six now for ever and ever Anyone think the name "And then I turned 7" has a connection with this poem? Does anyone know? |
| And Then I Turned Seven – I Miss You Lyrics | 19 years ago |
Where do I begin... I love this song. Everyone will experience loss and death and will need to eventually move on, but sometimes you can't help wonder "Why couldn't I change things? Was I not good enough? Why'd they have to go?" etc.. Life's not always fair, but you have to get on with it. You can't forget the past. It's like a scar that your glance stumbles upon once you're alone with your thoughts. Beautiful song. |
| Youth Group – Skeleton Jar Lyrics | 19 years ago |
I'm not sure whether or not this song is about two guys... but even so, it's pretty darn amazing. I love this song and listen to it a lot, and I'm still sort of trying to figure out what it means to me. I think it's sort of like this person wants to be really cared about and recognised, and once that's accomplished, he'll finally be able to have fun in life. It the fault of others that his life is so bland and miserable, but as soon as others realise who this person is, and respect him for who he is, everything will be better. |
| Jimmy Eat World – Hear You Me Lyrics | 19 years ago |
Cinderella Story? haha niiiiice. I've never seen it, maybe I should ^^ I just love this song. It's so meaningful when you listen to the lyrics. I don't know if it's about a girl or family or a friend, but I know it speaks to me. Someone has helped him become a better person, and he never really thanked them, told them how great a person they were for helping, then they passed on. It was too late, but maybe by writing this song he's still saying his thanks to them where ever they are now. just beautiful |
| Plain White T's – Hey There Delilah Lyrics | 19 years ago |
nickduron!!!!!! what's on earth is that about!?!?! That was an unkind, prejudice remark about a really meaningful song lots of people enjoy. First of all, it's not something that needs to be sung by a gay person, though nothing should stop them if they wanted to. A boy is singing to a girl, and he's expressing his undying love. They make each other happy and that's a wonderful thing. I love this song, and I'm not the only one judging by these other posts. My boyfriend and I have been together for almost 8 months, and he lives on the other side of the freaking ocean. I see him twice a year, and I'm so happy when I'm with him. He sings to me and plays his guitar and it's just amazing. There's nothing wrong with this piece of work, or anything like it. It can be seen as sappy and I understand that, but you don't need to say it like it's a bad thing. No words good or bad can describe how extraordinary the feeling is, and how well this song describes it. This song is heartfelt, and this is an amazing piece of work. |
| Queen – Don't Stop Me Now Lyrics | 19 years ago |
| This song... Oh gosh I love this song. I just go insane when I hear it. Interestingly enough this is a song my boyfriend and I just go crazy singing together. It's really funny. This is definately Queen at their best and I love it!! Good times with this song!! :) | |
| Counting Crows – Accidentally In Love Lyrics | 19 years ago |
I'll admit this song doesn't seem like one you'd hear from the Counting Crows, but I adore it anyway. Surely everyone's got some sort of love story? And that first feeling when you realize that you felt this way for someone.. it's like "Wow... I'm in love". I've heard this song lots and it's so happy and upbeat, and it makes me feel the same way. This is the kind of song i sing or hum a lot and then i wind up getting elbowed by a friend to remind me to SHUT UP lol. But really, even though this isn't much like the other Counting Crows stuff, I love it. |

| Green Day – Extraordinary Girl Lyrics | 19 years ago |
| This song has such great meaning. I see the sort of "prostitute and a true lover" thing. That's a pretty sweet idea. I sorta (not totally) relate to this song. I am no prostitute, I can assure you, but life was starting to get stressful (which it does for everybody every now and then), and I wished an old friend of mine hadn't moved so far away. But I was willing to get a lil attention from anyone else to make me feel better. Things weren't great, but it's not like I was just gonna take my life. That was a stupid idea and wouldn't solve anything. I then got back in contact with that old friend of mine that I hadn't seen for about two years (he had moved to another continent.. yuck), but it was amazing the bond we still had once we were talking again. After a couple of months of talking again, he finally told me he was sorry for losing contact, and he didn't want to, but he was to shy to talk to me (lacks the courage in his mind). He told me he stopped talking in elementry school because he started to have a bit of a crush on me.. and all these years later he still cared about me, but didn't have the guts to tell me. He comes back a couple times a year to visit family and friends, and I am proud to say that I feel very loved once again, and we've been a happy couple for nearly 6 months XD | |
| Green Day – Deadbeat Holiday Lyrics | 19 years ago |

Forgot to mention the last time I posted.. Obviously I'm not saying only I can relate. Everyone's had to go threw something bad but anyone can stop and look on the brightside and realize that it'll be ok in the end. ^_^ |

| Green Day – Deadbeat Holiday Lyrics | 20 years ago |
"Wake up the house is on fire And the cat's caught in the dryer" The moment I heard those words i nearly fell over. I adore this song for it's catchy beat and important meaning. I recently had a house fire that started in the same room as our dryer (same corner of the room even), and it took the life of our pet cat, Ripley. I'm still living in the temporary house while they rebuild my old place. But dude, i bought this CD for the song Warning, then i realized it was probably their best CD ever. and just to add on, I can relate! Life can hand you a load of crap, and nothing may work out the way you want, but life is still good, and still something to celebrate! |

| I find this song really fun somehow. Yes it's clearly about a girl in denial of a boy's feelings, and I think it's ...dare i say... *cute*? I have a lot of fun singing songs like this with my friends because even if they aren't the best written ever, they are still the kind of song that - as forelsket_seg said- grow on you! | |

Weather it be about Billie's son keeping him up, or his experience with drugs. i mean [GREEN DAY]. ~We all know he's got experience~, this song is just awesome. The beat is catchy and the words are... well they are also catchy. I applaud Green Day. | |

I think blink 182 is so awesome. This song is here to be funny so i shall laugh. *is laughing*. but i would also like to say that I agree with Neurotica_06. Just because not everyone here likes Nirvana or Blink-182, there's no need to insult and swear. Song Meanings. Think about it. The posts on this page are your honest opinion on this particular song. Please i will respect that you don't like some music.. but can you please respect others opinions too? |
