i have to agree with rust3dxh3art. it does seem like its about the band and how their fan base is changing when you look at it that way. especially the "Dont pretend you ever forgot about me" also the "We dont fight fair" could be in refrence to the fact that they have given out a few bitchy vibes to people on IOH on 'thnks fr th mmrs' for example. By using the "We dont fight fair" line it could mean they wont say it to the peoples faces but they will say it in a song therfore not fighting fair. it does make alot more sense especially when you look at the new video....which i think is so funny. |

first off. the used are myfave band and ill admit i did go off them slightly while waiting for their new album (as i always seem to do when a band make a new album) but this...wow. i only heard it today and the first time i heard it i felt the same way i did the first time i heard taste of ink Yeah its completey different, but its stil the used. this is their third album, you cant ridicule them for changing and maturing. There really is no please in some people. i bet if they made an album exactly the same as 'The used' and 'In love and death' you would moan about them not changing their sound! and as for the PATD refrence, this is only being said because PATD are the one band everyone knows for using orchestral sounds. i didnt even get the PATD idea untill i read it on here and i still dont see it now. The used are nothing like them. I reminds me more of a NMBC sound. but hey thats just me. But on what the meaning is i agree with the majority. The "He wears is heart on his backpack, his backpack is al that he knows" gives the idea of maybe scene/emo kids? the used fan base feeling isolated and unwanted in the rest of the world. oh and the video...best yet....it fits prefectly with the song. very twisted and creepy. i love it. reminds me of the ring abit. |

i think this song is about someone who has a girl but he doesnt love her or feel for her as much as he used to. (basically what the chorus is) but he found someone new and its new and exciting, its the little things everyone overlooks in relationships that make him happy ect. patrick's voice totally fits into this song and it just works really really well. especially when they play this live. |

Ok firtly this is my favourite song on the ambum i think its amazing! i think this song is about obsessive love. sorry i really have to add my 2 cents to this 'disscussion' yeah shadows aint doin the scraming anymore but so what i think that the album is amaizng with or without, on some songs he's still screaming slightly. but i still think its a hella good album, this was the first song i heard of COE and to be honest i didnt really like it because i didnt think 'this' was a7x and it didnt really give me a good indication of what the album would be like but after several listens it dawned on me that bands change through each album and a7x are just evolving. Anyways i love this song, not a good as some others on there album but still well good. not too sure on the meaning though hmmm... |

okay i dont wanna get involved in the argueing or 'voicing of opinions' but i just think that this song is about war (any war) told through the eyes of a soldier. it could be any war but i think this song has specific meaning, but i dont think its about bush's decision to go to war because avenged are v pro bush, as i recently found out.
