BlackheartCherry is right about cleft. On the album version I definitely hear him pronouncing "And what was left? The perfect cleft" |

| Interpol – The Lighthouse Lyrics | 16 years ago |

The correct lyrics, from their official website: This place is set to break It's just as safe for me outside tonight And I want that I face the storm’s appetite From the lighthouse And I want that I embrace the storm and the night Whole What do the waves have to say now? What do the waves have to say now now? Slow now I let the waves have their way, now now Slow I let the waves have their day And I want that Here I've been living, unloosened from sin Upward and outward Begin, begin Here I've been loosened, unliving within Inwardly urgent And sinking again The lighthouse Much different from what's on here, changes the way you look at the song quite a bit. |

| Radiohead – Lucky Lyrics | 19 years ago |
| I can really relate to this song, every line in it. To me its about a guy who's just been alone or depressed for a fairly long time. but he falls in love and is on the verge of being in what he thinks will be a good relationship that will make him happy again. the aircrash is his trashed life and he says "pull me out of the wreck cause i'm your superhero" because he has finally found someone who really loves him and could help him. and standing on the edge is like standing being on the edge of long awaited happiness. so he says "its gonna be a glorious day" because he is anticipating that there will finally be long needed happy times in his life. great song. | |

| 764-HERO – Shoot A 45 Lyrics | 20 years ago |
| I think these lyrics are correct, they're the best I could come up with. This is such a good song, one of my favorites by 764-HERO. This site needs more lyrics by them and more comments on them. | |

| Modest Mouse – Broke Lyrics | 20 years ago |

This is probably my favorite modest mouse song, but it always bugged me that I don't know what Isaac is saying in one line (its listed here as "It was like everything was evidence of broken (time?)" which is way wrong) anyway I have 3 versions of the song, the one on building nothing, the one on baron von bullshit, and the demo tape version. In the first version the words go "It looked like everything (well/when) everything had ___ ___" the second version he says "it looks like everything like everyone (had/can) ___ ___" the third one is hard to hear but sounds like "It was a stupid (tiny/time a) stupid tiny ___ ___" the last two words/syllables are the same in all three, but I can't think of anything that sounds like what hes sayin in all three. I used to think it was "broke down" but in the second two it sounds different, more like "go slow" I really need the lyrics to this song... |

| Modest Mouse – Whenever You See Fit (with 764-HERO) Lyrics | 20 years ago |

I'm like 99% sure the lyrics go like this: "Everything you ever said Ever thought or ever meant or ever did You'll wake up early and you'll live to regret Well, you'll wake up early and you'll live to regret it all" if you listen close thats what isaac is saying at various parts of the song. and its an awesome lyric too. This song is incredible, its 14 mins long but it never gets old. I always end up not wanting it to end, so I'll put it on repeat and listen to it for an hour or so. its definitely one of my favorite songs by modest mouse or 764-HERO. |

| Modest Mouse – Ohio Lyrics | 20 years ago |

just a note, the correct lyrics are "we haven't learned to EAT our conscience yet," not "we haven't learned to read our conscience yet" it says so in the lyrics booklet that comes with the cd. and thats a really great line. |

| Modest Mouse – Workin' on Leavin' the Livin' Lyrics | 21 years ago |

Isaac is not copying the pixies, because as has been said, the pixies based that song (lady in the radiator song) on eraserhead. It says so if you read the booklet that comes with their complete B sides album. anyways, my guess is that Isaac is sort of borrowing this idea, but at the same time hes making it his own, and giving it new lyrics and a new feel again. Then again, its just five words. Lots of five-word phrases get repeated in music. On another note, this is an incredible song. Its very eery, and sad in a creepy way. I think its about a downward spiral, with drinking and srunk driving, moving steadily towards death. |

| Modest Mouse – Night on the Sun Lyrics | 21 years ago |

I'm not really sure this is about a drug trip. Some of the lyrics work for that, but not all of them really fit. The first half of the song I don't know about. It sounds like its about love or drugs or something along those lines. Now the second half of the song is talking about how generally his life sucks. EVeryone hates him, and his town is hell. I can relatye to this, because I live in a small town close to a big city, and it sucks. But after everything, he says "its alright". I think that whatever is going on in the first half of the song just makes his shitty life not matter so much. I'm still not sure about all that stuff with freezing your blood and eating my blood and junk. I also notice that this songs talks about "me" and "you", which sorta implies love or sex. This is an awesome song, but it still really confuses me.... |
