| Most of the meaning is straightforward and the bit about "nothing to heavy" has already been mentioned. The only thing I wanted to add was the final "is it you or me" bit? The guy reposted the ad and I think this part is an unsaid part the woman is interpreting in his voice. She is reading the ad and wondering if the reason he stood her up was because he was an asshole or if it was something wrong with her. | |

A little more commentary: Someone earlier asked, for the sake of discussion, an interpretation of the line: "He's holding back from telling her exactly what it really feels like." Having been in the situation, I think he doesn't want to tell her his feelings, because he is very uneasy and isn't enjoying it, but if he tells her, he appears to be less masculine. Thus, why he was pressured into the situation in the first place. Also, no one else but SilentHarmony touched on this line, I don't think: "It used to be the reason I breathed but now it's choking me up" I completely agree with the interpretation. Basically, he once was obsessed with sex (during puberty for example), but now the reality is a lot less glamourous (i.e. Glorious...as in "Glory Fades"). |

| This song describes my first experience almost to the letter. Like someone said earlier, we're a much less pure generation, and sometimes the situation exists where stereotypes are reversed and the guy is a deer in headlights and the girl is just looking to get laid. | |
