I love this song, and I whole-heartley support them in their anti-Bush stand. I don't like Bush, but I do like this song, and I will always support the Dixie Chicks, no matter what. I've always listened to them, ever since I was a little kid, and I'm not about to stop, just because my dad or someone else tells me too because they don't like the comments they made about their beloved Bush. |

I love the song. I agree with everyone who has said this is a straightforward song. It is just talking about her lover betraying her. At least, I see it that way, then he wants to complain, and she's basically saying, if you loved me, then you'd be here with me, and you only call me when your drunk. |

While many of you think that this song is about a woman/woman relationship [same sex, whatever], it's actually about Sarah's aunt, who died
How could it be about her aunt? It says "no one left to finger" on one verse. But that also doesn't mean its about a girl/girl (same sex) relationship either. |

I agree with a lot of comments. This song basically talks about loving someone and not being loved in returned .. and not only that, but not even being noticed. I wonder when she talks about leaving if she means suicide .. and then when she dies maybe people will notice her and realize that she meant so much to them.

To me, it says that she is tired of fighting some unseen force, like maybe a battle of some kind of disease maybe, like Cancer, then she says how she is broken, and lifeless, and how someone or some higher power is her inner strength to carry on. |
