| Kings of Leon – Where Nobody Knows Lyrics | 19 years ago |

great song. damn good song. some of these lyrics are really good... "stonewashed shoe pullin at a rock but the rock don't compromise come up to me and say 'why you so skinny and pretty for a boy'" I sound kind of retarded but parts of it are really poetic. It's a really poignant the way he sings it because he sounds sad and really sincere. I think this is definitely one of their best songs. |

| I fucking love this song. It makes me want to learn about Sri Lankan politics. I wish I knew more. M.I.A.= the only rap CD I've bought...basically ever. | |

I like this song a lot it's really "playful" the way he sings it. In parts it sounds like he was laughing while he was recording it. I think it's basically just about the misadventures of being drunk. Yeah, i really like it. |

| The Kinks – You Really Got Me Lyrics | 20 years ago |
|
The thing is, this song now would be way more explicit, you know? "You really got me now" says a lot, but is still vague by today's standards. Today the message in YRGMN would be conveyed WAY more obviously. ...say along the lines of "I wanna lick lick lick you from your head to your toes" or something. ... Kinks rocked, underrated man. |

| M.I.A. – Galang Lyrics | 20 years ago |
|
I really have no idea what most of this song means...I'm lost with a lot of the slang stuff...but it's just so fucking nice that someone is uses rap/hip hop to talk about something that is actually important and somewhat meaningful...political and society stuff unlike SO many american rappers.... Also, M.I.A.'s style is pretty cool too |

| Kings of Leon – Four Kicks Lyrics | 20 years ago |
|
Ummmm i read in an interview, or maybe more than one interview, which i believe were from american magazines, that this song is taken from the band hearing stories about the fights their dad and his friends used to pick when they were younger. this was of course before his dad became a preacher or decided he wanted to become one. I believe that Caleb said that Huffman, who was one of his dad's friends, decided to pick a fight so that event is what the song is about. the four kicks refers to the pack of four friends that caleb's dad and huffman were included in. I think this all makes sense when you look at the lyrics, which, taken from the album jacket are: "Huffman don't take no nonsense he's here to rectify he's got his black belt buckle and the red mans fire in his eye You with your switchblade posse I'll get my guns from the SOUTH We'll take to the yard like a cockfight four kicks who's struttin now".... there's another verse but I don't feel like writing it. I highly doubt there is any political message in the song....i'm pretty sure it's just a song based on a story from the past. it has nothing to do with abbie hoffman or whatever. |

| The Strokes – Hard To Explain Lyrics | 21 years ago |

Was an honest man Asked me for the phone I tried to take control Oh I don\'t see it that way I don\'t see it that way We shared some ideas All obssessed with fame Says we\'re all the same Oh I don\'t see it that way I don\'t see it that way a lot of people say that the strokes' songs sound the same, maybe he's talking about that in the second verse... ithat's what i kind of get from it and then julian says, "I don't see it that way"... and then he talks about being obsessed with fame, and that kind of thing, it sounds like he's partly talking about dealing with the record company and that kind of thing. the rest seems to be about inadequacy and never being good enough. yeeeah. |

| The Strokes – New York City Cops Lyrics | 21 years ago |

good song, pretty self-explanatory.... the only thing is, it sounds like he's saying "New york city girls" not new york city cops....i know those are the official lyrics but still. funny, how it happened that way. |
