The Rolling Stones – Angie Lyrics 13 years ago
That seems like a completely reasonable explanation.

Fluke – Blue Sky Lyrics 15 years ago
He might have written this about drugs, but to me, this has another meaning. My guess is that when he sings "Assumed that I've been the fool", he refers to how he have let the society and people around him decide his life and principles for him. Many of the lines in the first verse resembles popular ways of thinking about life, money, women and so on. Maybe it is about letting go of others opinions and define your own path through life. Awesome song anyways, both lyrically and musically.

Gorillaz – New Genious (Brother) Lyrics 15 years ago
I think you are kinda wrong with your analysis. You cannot dissect a gorillaz lyric like som damn VCR user manual. You way oversimplify the content of the verses while reading way too far into each line.

I think that when interpreting a gorillaz lyric you need to look at the bigger picture. Or maybe not interpretating it at all is better lol, gorillaz lyrics tend to be very cryptic.

Gorillaz – Every Planet We Reach Is Dead Lyrics 16 years ago
I think we all could agree that no matter what the lyrics in a song, 90% of all people will interperate it as a love song. But dont you think that Albarn would have something better to write songs about at an age of 40 than a damn long distance relationship? Maybe in his diary but not in such a deep and philosophical album as Demon Days. If the song would have been about him liking a girl he wouldnt write the line "I like the girl".

As with many of gorillaz-songs, the lyrics are really hard to interperate. But maybe something about a longing for someone or something above ourselves to help us define our existence. Just like we try to find life on other planets but allways find just another "dead" planet.

Jack Johnson – Traffic In The Sky Lyrics 17 years ago
To me, the meaning of this song is pretty obvious. It is about global warming, pollution etc. The "traffic in the sky" is a reference to airplaines as well as all the other things that are said to be pollutive. The verse is describing the people who claim that all the pollution dont have an effect on the invironment, as they simply say "how could we have known". Other examples, as "Words of wisdom all around" are references to all the knowledge we have about the effect the pollution has on the environment, but people still dont care to do do anything with it.

This song has always been special to me. I feel the lyrics undergo the exterior of the writer and brings out his emotions.
