| Circle Jerks – Deny Everything Lyrics | 21 years ago |

Thiscan have two meanings. About how messed up the prison system is. The only way a criminal will plead guilty is if they get a plea bargain. They deny everything, and it costs more tax dollars for prosecutors to get evidence on people who are already obviously guilty. Or another view is that no one can be guilty of anything until the accuser has some proof. Either way still another awesome Circle Jerks song. |

This is about a working man who drinks irresponsibly and gets a friend killed. It's okay to drink responsibly but when you don't there are serious repercussions. This song shows that punk is not about "Haha let's just get wasted 24/7 for the rest 50 years of our lives." It also doesn't have the straightedge mentality to it. It's a compromise between the two of them. |

Truly a great Anthem, this is the best version I have heard of this song and got me into Black Flag. Not much meaning, but then again songs can be fun like this and don't always have to have a strong meaning. |

| Black Flag – My War Lyrics | 21 years ago |

I'm not sure how accurate this may be, but it seems to me that the this song is about someone suffering from Paranoia Schitzophrenia. I say this because of how crazy Henry Rollins is during this song. "It lives in my brain, It's with me everyday" Plus it's the war against the forces controlling the minds of a schitsophrenic person. It also has some screaming that although is the same kind as in the shitty emo bands, actually goes with the song, and is the only time I have ever heard screaming utilized in a decent way. Even the recording quality sucks and it's a great way of how Black Flag stays true to true punk and says "Hey fuck your polished music, recording industry." Enough of my ramblings... |
