This song does remind me of Green Day, now that you guys mention it. ^_^
Anyways, This song is basically telling me about A girl that really liked this guy, so much, that she wasn't concentrating about the bad aspects of him. Then, he stood her up for a date, and she gets to see the bad aspects.
Avril commented about this song in an interview I read in a teen magazine. The line "He wouldn't even open up the door" was from a personal experience. Avril supposedly loves it when a guy puts his girlfriend first, doing things like opening doors for them, and pulling up their chair for them. This one guy, Avril said, didn't even open the door for her. She automatically knew he was wrong for her. |

This song is basically a girl thinking that her boyfriend was perfect, but it didn't work out in the end. To me, the parts about her boyfriend's friends are either her trying to p*ss off her boyfriend after they broke up, or her realizing after they broke up, actually seeing through the mist that is perfection. If your consumed by something, you don't notice much else. |
