Think this song is one of the best on the album - can't believe no one had added it yet! I would say its about a relationship where the girl cheated/lied and so they split up but the girl wants to pretend like it never happened. He feels like he's been living in a world of hypocrisy (falseness) because of her lying. Think the video is pretty cool too - possibly a 'blue peter' style link there where they portray the world as innocent when it really isn't (like when Matt Baker (think that was his name) was fired for taking drugs)?? |

The more I listen to this song the more I agree with you sk84urlife although there are some lines that don't quite fit - 'That way you know I'm hip' etc. Is a great song though. |

| Great song!! From what you have all said so far I'm thinking 'he' is either war like keats1986 says or it could be 'the west' or western leaders who are insistent on going to war with everyone and don't seem to consider the effect it has on the locals etc. What do you think?? | |

I have to agree - definately what the songs about. Just wanted to say how good this song is!! I'm not normally a fan of this sort of music but this song is amazing and I can't stop listening to it! Currently is along side NIN, feeder, QOTSA, jimmy eat world etc in my 5* music playlist - random i know :). |

I think there is a link with Chuck Palahniuk. The songs called Palahniuk's laughter and it's obviously about pain/break up etc. Chuck Palahniuk wrote books like Fight Club, Survivor, Invisible Monsters etc. I don't really know the others but fight club is about people getting pleasure from fighting (or at least a release from life) so I think 'Palahniuk's Laughter' relates to Palahniuk's books and their look on life. Hope you understand what I'm trying to say?! :) Great song btw even though I did hate Busted like you lot :). |
