it might be one of his nieces and a sister (in-law), jack is the youngest of 10 and obviously loves children. a really good song, maybe a little overdone (there's like 10 different parts, I wish they'd cut a couple and repeated the main section a third time). |

it's reflexive. it's a catchy, hook-laden song making fun of you for singing along without thinking about what it's about. |

| Nirvana – Baba O'Riley (The Who cover) Lyrics

it's the first verse of baba o'reilly, a song about teenage rebellion, plus a fragment of another that he rewrote to comment on corporate rock crap.
what he meant about turning into townshend is that he didn't want to go from being part of an original and vibrant band like nirvana and the who started out as, to the crappy middle-if-the-road corporate rock peddler townshend turned into. unfortunately kurt never got the chance. |

| Nirvana – Tourette's Lyrics

you could argue that there is no one meaning to any nirvana song. kurt would sing things differently every time they played and even on the recorded versions would inject different words into what sounded like repeated lyrics. i think a lot of the time he didn't even know what he was going to say until he said it. i agree with the many people who said this is more about emotion than meaning; that was what was great about nirvana
i dono't think the song is so much "about" tourettes but an exploration of the feelings behind being unable to control your thoughts/emotions/actions |
