| Blink-182 – All of This Lyrics

This obviously has nothing to due with the real meaning of the song and is reading the song out of context from 'Easy Target' and is just me sulking while listening to the lyrics, but anyways:
"Another night with her"
Doesn't nessicarly mean the man, Holly could be spending her nights with another women.
"Nothing I know changes me at all; Again I wait for this to change instead; To tear the world in two"
He waits for the situation to change, he doesn't act. He may be in angsting pain but he doesn't make any move. Even though he feels miserable its all he has.
"Use me Holly come on and use me"
He wants to be with Holly, in any way, shape or form, even treated as an object.
All the other verses seem to be another variation on the "Tear the world appart" Theme. |

Its both about masturbation and dancing, double meaning. Some lines fit more with dancing than masturbation and some fit more with masturbation than with dancing. |

On an actual note about the song for once; I think Green Day is the only person (Billie Joel) that has used the word Faggot in a way that I think is viable, as a satire of those damn homophobes and republicans. |

When you look at the lyrics, and know about the fact its about a soldier coming back from war, its pretty simple. "Mama, take this badge from me, I don't need it any more. It's getting dark, too dark to see. I feel like I'm knocking on heaven's door". He's obviously ashamed of what he did in the war, and wants to be forgiven. |

Dubious; I hate capitalism, but I can't make a life if I don't get a job and get payed and such. Media isn't music, Media is stuff like MTV, CNN. Music would be Multimedia, and this song isn't just about the media anyways. Its an anti-American song, yes. But so what? To any and all republicans that must have argued about this song in the previous 34 pages; Screw you. Billie can sign whatever the fuck he wants, its called freedom of speach, and if you don't want to listen to what he has to say; don't. Nobody honestly cares about your opinions on here, you're not gonna change other's, I'm not going to change your opinion with this. I'm just telling you to shut up about how its anti-American pro-Liberal bullshit.
First off; Liberalism isn't anti-american. America could be alot better if the media or religeon or state din't create racism/homophobia, ect. "Everything isn't meant to be okay." Your country has brainwashed you into thinking things are okay the way they are. They arn't. Your a nation of fear; "Welcome to a new kind of tension."
Screw it, nobody will care about this, I assume these points have already been brought up. |

When I hear this and think about it, it seems as it is about a very superfical popular person. I don't know really. And it sounds as if he's trying to save them from themselves. |

| The Cure – Lullaby Lyrics

The song is obvious written about a childhood dream he had, "lullaby" but I think it is just so well written that interpetations can be made on it very easily. The real meaning isnt really important, the meaning you see in it is. I personally can see all your points about the predatory instinct, but when I hear it it just seems like a very disturbing image, as a child would see it. Now why he got the dream could be a result of some sort of interpetation found in the song. |

How does making a cover of a band make you worse than them? That makes no sense. Some crap ass bands can write wondeful songs (one hit wonders are an example of this, such as this song) but some songs arn't played alot anymore, but were big hits, or they wern't noticed at all in their time, and a popular artist has to bring it out, some songs _need_ to be covered to be good.
