Abandoned Pools – Clone High Lyrics 19 years ago
This show was fantastic. Pity I found it 3 years too later but I've got all the episodes anyway. The song is funny too, I like it that AP played along with the game and sense of humour.

Get Set Go – I Hate Everyone Lyrics 19 years ago
I love this song, especially the second verse. And I love the fact that its about hating everybody but the song seems so happy. He's very frank about it all which is excellent, no subtle meanings here!

Rob Thomas – now comes the night Lyrics 20 years ago
I always get the feeling that this song is about growing old together, and that his wife never has to be scared and cry because he will always be there beside her. Great song, very simple with just the piano and Rob's voice.

Grinspoon – Hold On Me Lyrics 20 years ago
I love this song, I can't believe there is only a few comments on it! Definitely one of the best ones from the new cd. I agree that it sounds like they have broken up but he still loves her and wants to dance with her again. In the beginning it when he says
"We can climb over the walls"
that he thinks they can handle anything that comes their way. Always makes me want to dance! Love the old school film clip also!

Matchbox Twenty – Real World Lyrics 21 years ago
Whenever I listen to this song, I always get the feeling that its simply about growing up. All the 'I wonder what it's like?'s remind of of kids always daydreaming and having an awesome imagination. Now that Rob is older, he just wishes that sometimes he could go back to times when it was that simple, when he was a child. He wants the 'real world', the world of adults to leave him alone. Love this song, one of my favourites!

Matchbox Twenty – Downfall Lyrics 21 years ago
When I first listened to this song, I didn't like it very much because the choir sounded strange to me. Now it is one of my favourite Matchbox Twenty songs.

To me this song always makes me think of the vulnerabilty and uncertainty that can come through in a relationship. It shows the insecurity that Rob (or whoever wrote this song) feels in his relationship, like he has nothing to give her, even though I am sure this isn't the case.

The passion in this song takes my breath away, it just seems so powerful. It is a shame that they couldn't tour with the choir, but their concert for this cd was awesome!

Jimmy Eat World – Ten Lyrics 21 years ago
Whenever I listen to this song, I always think of alcohol addiction, especially because of the part 'we need poison sometimes, so take another drink with me' however other elements probably come into it, its doubtful that any JEW song is clean cut and about one thing.

I totally agree with Benjaminn about the music, something about it seems very powerful and means more to me than the lyrics.

My sister and I have also toyed with the idea that Jim's dad was an alcoholic, or someone close to him was, and while Jim himself is probably not an alcoholic, he has a 'weakness' for it, but he doesn't necessarily 'blame' his father.

No idea where the 'Ten' comes from but I would be interested to find out. JEW's titles can seem unconnected to the actual song but I am sure thats not the case in the eyes of the writer.
