If you take into account what skinner56 said, then the beginning to this song makes sense. I believe The Crimson is all about a broken relationship and the guy ends up killing the girl. It is the revival of oneself from being abused in a relationship and the use of evil and violence to achieve revenge. Adam Varkatzas, the lyricist/lead vocalist, is trying to say that a person can only depressed for so long until he breaks out and allows "darkness" to take over his actions and feelings. When this happens, he changes and becomes a totally different person, so much that even a mirror cannot recognize. In the chorus the question is asked, "Will you still hold me when you see what I have done?" After that he says that he is dead (his heart is), but the girl is physically dead. The second verse is about how he lives with this on his conscience afterwards and how to avoid being reminded of it: "It's hard to look at saints without them reflecting their jet black auras back on you." He must "deconstruct" all his past failings and move on in a positive, new direction. The final verse is about the burial of the girl he just killed, how he needs more time, and how he hopes he will let this event pass so he can live on. Great song; one of my favorites by Atreyu; lyrically fucking amazing. |

| Atreyu – Nevada's Grace Lyrics | 21 years ago |
| From the lyrics, this song is probably about the love that the writer/someone has for a woman. This is quite obvious from the "take my breath away" lines to the literal meanings in the second stanza. This relationship may be a forbidden love, because from the title "Nevada" we can relate this to a place of sin, Las Vegas. With this love comes lust, and we find this in the part where it says "your love fills me up when the blood in my body's drained" and "your strength is my backbone." These are possible sexual references describing an erection. I think the sinful nature of this song makes the magnitude of the last three lines so great. This song is great no matter how correct my interpretation is; one of my favorites on The Curse. | |
