The Verve – See You In The Next One (Have A Good Time) Lyrics 17 years ago
Don't know why this song moves me so specifically on certain occasions and not on others. Richie is really drugging it up nicely on this. The piano is obviously the remarkable thing here. It's all so goddamn genuine, i guess that's why I like it a lot. Songs about saying goodbye usually are so fucking trite it makes me sick to my stomach. This one means it

Talking Heads – Seen And Not Seen Lyrics 17 years ago
He wasn't high at all. Geopharm has the right idea. But it's not as lame as yeah we all conform to each other's ideas of each other. It's something much more deep seeded, truer than that. There are thoughts spoken and others that go completely unspoken, undiscussed, unacknowledged by the greater community. Byrne just happens to bring up one of those really obscure, dismissed thoughts that some of us tend to have in a moment of clear insight

Talking Heads – Drugs Lyrics 17 years ago
the words are totally irrelevant, though the lyrics are quite good. the delivery is impeccable. the instrumentation is unlike anything eno or byrne has ever done before or since. a completely original, beautiful experience. i'm rather upset it receives so little mention amongst so-called talking heads connoisseurs and others. i claim nothing, except that this song is remarkable

The Rolling Stones – Just Wanna See His Face Lyrics 21 years ago
am i only the one who adores this song? whenever i talk about my favorite stones songs i always mention this and people have no idea--even those who claim to be big stones fans. again, it's about the emotion, not the lyrics of the song, which are only discernable by reading them. the drum work is simply awesome. it feels like something you'd hear in a 1940s cajun joint, but this could only be done by the stones.

The Rolling Stones – Let It Loose Lyrics 21 years ago
this is one of the stone's hardest hitting, yet the lyrics, when you understand them, are kind of a letdown. then again, the stones have always been about emotion over cerebral anyway. amazing song. maybe their best.

The Rolling Stones – Salt Of The Earth Lyrics 21 years ago
A strangely poignant celebration that ends just amazingly, on par with You Can't Always Get. i think it sums up beggar's banquet perfectly.

The Rolling Stones – Moonlight Mile Lyrics 21 years ago
Charlie Watts cymbal work, the piano and the the guitar solo at the end (not Richards, btw) are all amazing. Probably my favorite Stones song. I never thought about the masturbation aspect of it, but it kind of takes away from my romanticized view of the song so I don't think it's something i'll consider too strongly.
