to me, i think this song has been read into too much by everyone. it isnt about virginity, being raped or Mary Magadelene (wtf?). in this song she is talking about how she has realised that her boyfriend who she is splitting up with wasnt who or what she thought he was.*Well, you couldn't be that man I adored. You don't seem to know, seem to care, what your heart is for* sheis also reflecting on her own naivity, and how she feels angry and cheated for believing he was perfect..*So I guess the fortune teller's right, I should have seen just what was there and not some holy light* i think it may be talking about her first love as she says *he showed me what it was to cry*, which to me translate that he showed her what a broken heart felt like. *I'm cold and I am shamed,Lying naked on the floor*..to me this line is her talking about how exposed and vunerable she feels, and the line *Illusion never changed, Into something real* is her talking about how she really thought everything was perfect but it wasnt. all in all i think its a very powerful song, which everyone can relate to at some point in their life if they have been hurt off someone. |

to me, this song is about over coming struggles, and going through a lot of pain, to finally realising that things are starting to look up. being able to forgive, and about being proud to have come out of it all a stronger person. *these are my words, ive never said before, i think i am doing ok* being able to finally admit to the problems you had, and realising that you are getting over them and re-discovering yourself. a veyr personal song for me, and i think its beautiful. |

ZakRisk: im not an outcast goth.. i dont even listen to this kind of music usually, if you must know im more of an R'n'B girlie actually 0_o you dont have to be a 'goth' or by any means, even a teenager to feel confused, hurt or lost. the fact is, simple plan have done a good job, regardless of what you think or say. |

this is such a beautiful, meaningful, and inspiring song. Simple Plan have done a fantastic job in portraying just how bad it is when your lonely, confused, and wanting something but not knowing what it is... i also think the critism some people have expressed mirrors the meaning of the song.. you just dont understand. good job simple plan, i wish i could write as accuratly and as beautifully as this xo |
