first of all gummidemilo, you should really think before you talk here. PemberleyTea was telling you what the song is about. Im sorry you are so hostile towards Christian music but you shouldnt forget that this man whose music you love so much is one of the most devout christians you will ever meet.
Second of all PemberleyTea if you ever see this, I was wondering if you knew about any other good Christian music like Sufjan. Everything else out there that I have heard of is horrible. |

It seems as if he is talking of the Devil throughout this story but then it seems more like a longing to "see you". Im not sure if he wants to finally see his great tempter face to face ad spite him or if he switches that part and is talking about God. |

Well I think Sufjan Stevens is an amazingly lyricist. I myself am a Christian and I can safely say this is the only "christian" album ive ever liked in my life. Its so great that he actually makes good christian music! And the parade i believe is a metaphor for the Kingdom of God. He sees this beautiful parade and all the trees (the world) tells him about it. He wants to be part of it. |

I think what he means by "she was once like me" has something to do with the fact that the grandmother doesn't fully accept Chrisitianity until the gun is put into her face. He is either all or nothing. He says that if Christ really came then you should be a devout Chrisitian and if not you should forget it all and not worry abotu anything. Its really good writing by flannery. She like him does not accept at a time. |
